B5204T3 - T5 Engine 850 / S70 / S80 - Any Infomation On This?

This is the same basic engine Volvo used in the BTCC, first in 850 wagons, and then later in S40 sedans. Of course, it was not turbo, and had compression around 13:1 or something like that, and had lift of nearly 21 or more mm. Head was custom, but still fit BTCC regs. Produced reputed 325 hp, when everyone else was around 285-300 maybe. Nice for non turbo engine.

It's not. ;)

BTCC engine had an even bigger 84mm bore and smaller stroke near 74 mm. Custom rods and crank with smaller 40 mm diameter or so big ends made by Pankl. Pistons were of the skirtless type.

Nope...

2.0 T5 - 210 hp

2.0 R - 225 hp

OK, the engine is basically the same engine as the 2.3 engine, except for the crank being 77 mm instead of 90 mm stroke.

....

Since the cams for both T3 engines are the same, I'd say you found your 225 hp engine in the B5204T3.

Unfortunately, VIDA gives me a part number for the turbos, but doesn't say which model they are: 12T, 13T, etc.

My 2.0T5 had a 13G

The 2.0R had a 16T (v70R)

Well, I need as much infomation I can get on these B5204T3 and B5204T5 engines. If both of them are based of the solid 2.3 T5 and not the updated / facelifted delicate engines then I will truely be happy!

The low pressure turbo B5204T5, 180 hp, is based on the 2.4 LPT engine. Is has a 77 mm stroke and a 83 mm bore. Rods are 152 mm long. Compression is 9:1. Basically the weak engine.
