You know what they shared in common? They both were profiled and murdered by a predator with a gun, who could have chosen a different course of action in the immediate moments before putting a bullet into their victim from point blank range. Of course, I know by now, that you’re not going to agree with that comparison of the two crimes – so, instead I’ll just point out two facts that you can’t dispute: 1) Regarding the West murder: black people were equally outraged. There were no mass demonstrations on the behalf of the killer, demanding a fair and impartial trial. 2) Regarding the Martin murder: Black people aren’t the only people protesting the sense of unfairness surrounding the verdict of Zimmerman’s actions. This isn’t the Untouchables… … and I’m not going to start listing examples of minority murder victims to offset the examples of white murder victims that you post up as though this was some sort of poker match using cards depicting infamous deaths. (Because all I’d have to do to win is google the number of black murder victims within a 100 mile radius of beautiful, peaceful Warner-Robins, Ga. during the Jim Crowe era and you’d lose). Ive only had about 20 death threats, and for some reason black people like to toss around NAACP threats and taunts when I help other customers before them, even if that customer was there before them O.o just this week. Feel bad for the kid I have working the window full time, I only have to deal with it for 1-2 hours a day. I was the 13-month old child who was shot in the face at point blank range by two black teens, who were attempting to rob my mother, who was also shot in March of this year. I think my murder and my mommy's wounding made the news for maybe a day, and then disappeared. A Grand Jury of my mommy's peers from Brunswick, Georgia ruled the black teens who murdered me will not face the death penalty... too bad it was me who got the death sentence from my killers instead, because Mommy didn't have the money they demanded. See, my family made the mistake of being white in a 73% non-white neighborhood, but my murder wasn't ruled a 'hate crime'. Oh, and President Obama didn't take a single moment to acknowledge my murder. He couldn't have any children who could possibly look like me - so why should he care? I'm one of the youngest murder victims in our great Nation's history, but the media didn't care to cover the story of my being killed in cold blood. There isn't a white equivalent of Al Sharpton, because if there was he would be branded a 'racist'. So no one's rushing to Brunswick, Georgia to demonstrate and demand 'justice' for me. There's no 'White Panther' party, either, to put a bounty on the lives of the two black teens who murdered me. I have no voice, I have no representation, and unlike those who shot me in the face while I sat innocently in my stroller - I no longer have my life. Isn't this a great country? So while you're out seeking 'justice for Trayvon', please remember to seek 'justice' for me. Tell your friends about me, tell you families, get tee-shirts with my face on them, and make the world pay attention, just like you did for Trayvon. I won't hold my breath though. Then show me how that's an issue. Show me how law-abiding young blacks are being gunned down. Show me what you're talking about. Because unless you're talking specifically about TM (which you were, you just don't want to admit that you were using him to build your argument off) it's a bullshit question. See, I can do it too. I can post some story about how a white-trash dude gets mugged by a black guy,in a drug deal gone wrong. I can then ask "what do young white males have to do to, to not get mugged???" It's a bull-shit question that has no bearing on the case at hand. Prove to me that young LAW-ABIDING blacks are being gunned down just because they're black. Show me a story where it happened.
