the Subaru WRX STi's have these too. load leveling headlights. was this on an XC? usually it's if you tow something, you adjust the headlights according to the amount of load you have. i wish i had that in the S70.

On XC (and most P80 AWD) they have nivos, which level the car, so the headlights don't need to be reaimed. ;)

Pssssst! Guess what guys.... My brother parted out his 96 855, while he was in germany. Shopped everything back to me. He included everything to make that swap. Headlights, switch, wires, etc.

O.O

Headlights should be the same. The difference is you twist out the manual adjuster and pop in the servo adjuster. It's a fairly standard Hella-branded servo that I've found on dozens of different Hella headlights (mostly older BMW lights). I'm quite intrigued in this system.

I do want foldable door mirrors more.. *drool*

Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Leveling-Motor-1-3-5-X6-Series-E81-E87-E90-E91-F10-F11-F07-E71-/320832731517?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab31ef97d&vxp=mtr

The difference between most of them is the length of the shaft. They usually go for $10-20.

Hey Serge,

You mean these?

OP, The switch is for what the others have stated. Cool you got them!

Regarding the 850 and early S70, there is a link some where on Volvospeed that has the electric folding mirrors. You can get them in Japan, that I know for sure.

Yes, but they also exist for the S70 (p80) platform in Japan. Wiring is different so not a simple install if you can acquire the folding mirrors and switch.

Yep, I was always under the impression that they were not longer in production.

I talked about these with the guys on the Vpcuk forums. They have the wiring for the headlight adjusters built into the main harness. Probably a bear to do an OE quality install on a USDM car, not sure if we'd be able to get the pinouts too easily either for a more homebrew method. (Using the switch, and just the motors, no wiring)
