lookforjoe
Lots of goodies! That dipstick & tube is the standard replacement for the old single oring style. Actual RN dipsticks are different shape due to the revised tube design for the ME7 manifold....
Kevin.
So any RN dipstick would work? Or does it require the corresponding tube?
Timbo Slice
You need to install the tube as well. Awesome build, man. I'm definitely going to be following this, I can't believe I didn't see it already. And btw, aren't you a freshman in college or something? Simply Volvo
I must have missed something simply but why the RN dipstick? Yep tube provides more seal, my stuck tube o-ring went out. Decided to order the o-ring but they sent me the wrong one, so it would cause the stick to leak oil everywhere. RN stick should solve this issue as crankcase pressure isnt the issue. You need to install the tube as well. Awesome build, man. I'm definitely going to be following this, I can't believe I didn't see it already. And btw, aren't you a freshman in college or something? Thanks! Yes I am a freshman at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. I hope to start tearing everything down tomorrow (if I get any sleep tonight, which is unlikely), and have her boosting to 22 psi by the end of the weekend. I am still waiting on many parts, and am hoping they come today. Simply Volvo
Happy new years guys! New parking brake kit came in the mail today, couldn't figure out why i kept going through kits and why they weren't really working. Ends up my driver side cable is seized, so I cut that sucker out and a new one is on order. Passenger cable works fine, so i think I'm going to leave that one alone. 850 parking brake sucks! Maybe one day it will stop making all the terrible noises it does.
woah4
Oh man I'm with you on that one... I've been putting it off for so long it's gotten to a point where it opens my centre console when I pull it on lmao.

Simply Volvo
Got the turbo done tonight! Snap rings suck so much! Took me a good hr+ of me and my dad trying every different way to get the damn snap ring on for the compressor cover. We finally got it! Also torquing down the compressor nut was quite scary as I didnt want to snap the shaft, but it is secured and thread locked! Pictures!! Compared to the stock turbine, this thing is REALLY going to flow! 400hp here i come!??
lookforjoe
Nice work! Just watch your EGT's (or monitor EBP) - that compressor will likely outflow the hot side if you run too much boost/high rpm. As long as you're monitoring the situation & stay alert for the crossover point where the back pressure exceeds any positive gains from the larger compressor you won't be melting any pistons...
