fred leonard
just buy the lock set. they slide into those holes so nobody can steal them. then you don't need the plugs.

db130
just buy the lock set. they slide into those holes so nobody can steal them. then you don't need the plugs. you need the retainers(#6 in the diagram) in order to use Thule locks. According to DW Volvo, the retainers are no longer available. Believe me, I'd rather have locks.
bdimag
tasca online isn't preventing me from ordering 1390917 -- not saying they would arrive or anything...
db130
Just in case anyone else is in my shoes, I ordered the 8637104/9134156 plug that Scootdiggity suggested on post #2 and unfortunately, it was not the right size(the round head is not large enough). I even tried ordering 1390917 from Tasca(they emailed me several days later to say that it's no longer available). I ended up taking a standard Thule lock plug(which sells for about 50 cents each and I happened to have spares of): and a generic plastic oil plug gasket: then glued the 2 pieces together using gorilla glue and trimmed/sanded/painted the plug. the result is presentable, more or less.. and definitely functional: Mods, please close.
