Burn-E Posted September 25, 2013 Report Share Posted September 25, 2013 We haven't had one of our typical MWC meets in months so let's make one happen in October where we get together and do what we do best: talk cars over beer or whatever your favorite beverage of choice might be. Where: The location of choice is the Flossmoor Station & Brewery, a great brewpub with a well developed menu also. Located in beautiful Flossmoor near the Indiana border where 294 and 80 connect, it's a perfect location for the guys who live downtown or south of Chicago who have religiously made the trek to the northern suburbs over the last several years. 1035 Sterling Avenue, Flossmoor, IL When: Oct 19th We're considering Oct 12, 19, or 26th. But my wife just informed me that the 26th is a big Halloween party my girls are looking forward to with great anticipation so I'm going to narrow it down to the 12th or 19th. Gabe apparently can't make it the 12th so I'm going to nail this down as the 19th and hopefully he can include joining us as part of his "busy-ness" on that day. I would suggest a lunch time meet to allow for daylight so we can stand outside and check out cars as part of the meet. Posted below are all the people who have said they can come so far. I am thinking about a parking strategy. With limited paRallel parking out front, the Metra lot directly to the north of the building would allow for all MWC to park together. Would rather not be isolated though, would prefer to see "who's around." Man, they used to have this one hot waitress, she was great, and a good waitress. V I P80 Posted September 26, 2013 Report Share Posted September 26, 2013 Reservation confirmed for Noon to 4 PM on Saturday October 19. No problem at all if folks want to linger late at the bar. Lee, they have converted the tent room into a fully furnished dining room that seats another 35+ customers. Since our group is currently small (less than 25 people), we are not able to guarentee a priviate space. It shouldn't be a problem, we have a reservation for 15, first preference in the (former tent) dining area and can also move our reservation location througout the bar, including the outdoor deck, weather permitting. They open at 1130 AM, we will have zero difficulty finding a comfortable place to meet as a group. Let me know if the reservation times need to change, they are currently very easy to work with.
