he did get a monster bonus after the shit started, but i don't blame him for the collapse.

$432k is pennies when it comes to Bankers' bonuses.  That's barely above what the plebes get.

I suspect Christie endorsed Trump as a possible bid to be his VP.

Carson?  Who knows, maybe he is still sleep walking.

I agree that the rest of Trump rallies will probably have to have heavy security.

Now that was unexpected... things have just got real

That was not unexpected when you understand the diversity of UIC's campus.  All of my friends in the Chicago area are talking about it. He was guaranteed to get a protest from students and millennials from the city.

I almost believe Trump targeted this in order to excite his supporters and to get his media moment extended over the weekend.  He's deliberately working these things.

But good for Chicago for telling him to get lost.

I voted Cruz yesterday as a strategic choice because he is rising in the polls here.  Hope to block Trump.  I guarantee he won't win in Cook County or the collar counties.  I hate Cruz but Trump needs to be stopped.

Trump is a xenophobic bigot. He is absolutely wrong.  Some terrorists who use Islam to support their world views do hate America.  But between the terrorists and those who support their views it probably constitutes 5-10% of the population.

Gary, why do you consider Trump a self made man? What defines that term for you?

Hmmm.  Where to start.  Ok, he took a very nice multi million dollar inheritance and turned it into a multi billions.  At this moment he is running (and financing) a political race that both parties are trying to sabotage and single handedly keeping the Republicans in the game.  What is your take on the original statement.

He's a lying, cheating bully who excessively overstates his actual wealth. And whether or not he's self-funding his campaign comes with a YUGE asterisk. He's loaning money which says he fully intends to recoup it from donations if this doesn't pan out for him. He's a buffoon, and empty suit who everyone treats seriously because his statements sound populist-like but they're just bumper stickers for political positions.  There literally is little more than that.  Has any one of you attended a Trump rally?  Do some reading from those who have and given reports that evaluate them critically rather than fawning all over him.  They are a series of empty statements all repeated eight to ten times.

http://www.inquisitr.com/2882204/donald-trump-rally-experience-from-white-guy/ (the FB post is by a friend of a kid who previously worked as a consultant for me, the reality is even worse than he conveyed in FB).

There is no standard of truth with Trump.  He makes shit up every step of the way and the problem is that people insist on not holding him to account for his bullshit.  This is a different game and the media and political opponents are only now beginning to realize it.  If you nail him down it's clear, as it was from the last debate that he doesn't know anything about what he attempts to propose.

The worst thing the Republicans did was take him seriously.  They should have laughed him off the stage.

Intelligent people refuse to do business with him because he's a disaster. He has very little clout in NYC which is highly surprising for a so called successful real estate developer.

To me, a self made man who started out with millions isn't really "self made"

That's like saying "I baked a cake from scratch" while using bisquick

Bingo. He did live a life handled to him a silver platter.   His father net worth is $250 millions on current day. There is a reason why his parent sent to military school because he would act like a bully and pick fight with anyone since grade school.

He certinaly not self made to anyone have a clue.

By your thinking a self made man would have to start at absolute zero.  Anyone that tells you they started there is being less than truthful.  Anyone that has anything started with a little bisquick in the cupboard.  You were hoping that I didn't know about the inheritance weren't you?  ;)

You do understand that a politician "making shit up" didn't start with trump right?  right?................right?  He is the best alternative we have.  Sad times indeed but change has to come.  Trump train  wooooooooot    woooooooooot.

That was not what I got out of it. I don't think most really believe it has to be truly starting from zero. There probably isn't a well defined number, as it's a factor of more than just money. But if there were ever an example of someone who is not entirely self-made, who inherited money, who inherited a business, who inherited a great education, it's Trump. A big part of the reason he did what he did was his parent's name and wealth. I don't think that's shameful either. Born rich, stayed rich. Sounds good. But that is not self-made.
