Sorry Gary, I don't understand that statement - especially since employment (you know, the tool most used by "those attempting to take care of themselves") has had a significant rebound (dispite the Republican's best effort to prevent it)

There's only one train that you need to ride - the SOUL TRAIN !!

Up until that last post I was.  Well that one and the previous asking fudgie the question he is artfully dodging now.

You're lucky I saved it 'just in case', although it's still probably buried in the server somewhere. But I don't think it was ever a full size shot, it's a thumbnail. I've put it in an album you can find in your gallery. But after that 'trolling' which included some pretty direct insults, you expect other people to care? That said, you did move to some actual conversation so ... I win, right?

Tump stands by his man that was arrested, sounds like he is doubling down at this point

This kind of tit for tat happens ALL the time in heated political campaigns.  Every single campaign I've been involved in eventually had some campaign employee push another or get into some kind of altercation and inevitably charges get pressed just to cause some small impact on the opposition through news coverage.  As much as I can't stand Trump this is nothing new.

During the 51st Republican town hall Tuesday, CNN's Anderson Cooper pressed GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on a spat with rival Ted Cruz centered on the two men's wives. The CNN correspondent cornered Trump at one point and said he argues like a 5-year-old.

(Note: There's a 99 percent chance there have been fewer than 50 town halls before this, but can anyone really keep track of these things anymore?)

It all started when an anti-Trump super PAC used a nude photo of the (maybe) billionaire's wife, Melania, in an attack ad meant to appeal to Utah's Mormon voters. Trump fired at Cruz on Twitter — GOP frontrunner suggested that he had dirt on the Texas senator's wife. Cruz shot back and told Trump that he wasn't behind the ad.

Of course, as Trump is wont to do, he ignored Cruz entirely and launched into a campaign comparing the two potential first ladies, which brings us to Cooper's line of questioning on Tuesday.

"C'mon," Cooper said as he pressed Trump about the feud. "You're running for president of the United States."

To which Trump says: "Excuse me — I didn't start it."

And in comes Cooper with a line that's lit the internet on fire.

"Sir, with all due respect, that's the argument of a 5-year old," he said.

Who would vote for a POTUS that argue like a toddler.  Wait, another adult toddler?

This is exactly where I figured both of you stood.  There are good historical reasons for not thinking isolationist approaches work.  And given how interconnected the global economies are today there are very significant consequences to deciding we're done here and telling the rest of the world to go pound sand.

So what are you proposing?  So far I've heard drop out of the UN.  I'm assuming there is an intention to change our trade and immigration policies as well since that's what Trump loves to spout. Anything else? What changes would you make?

What does this achieve in your minds? Why are we better off as a result?

I always look forward to Sean's drive by political rants.

Every 6 months !

Interesting times to say the least...the obvious dissatisfaction with the status quo and the social upheaval the last 6-8 yrs has caused a great deal of angst at many levels. paychecks are getting whacked, power brokers and the control class are being challenged, more people on assistance than ever before, self-declared protected classes seizing their opportunity, out side threats, cultural shifts etc. I'm not sure we should have expected anything different at this point.

Couple of observations:

Repubs brought a very diverse set of candidates to the table. Hispanics, Black, woman, business men, doctors, and pols of various degrees of conservative spectrum..

Dems brought a 67 yr old establishment white woman from the machine, and a 70 yr old white guy that never held a private sector job from the extreme left.

Feelings have supplanted logic, facts and common sense. Its as divided and selfish as I have seen in society and I grew up in the 60's, watching New Haven riots and Black Panther trials. The nation is breeding soft mushy pussies. You cant fill a job that requires effort and hard work, I.E. construction, because you can get handouts that equal or exceed salaries. Kids are now sources of income.

ACA is a mitigated disaster. If you haven't seen an increase in cost  and reduced services with your health care, your not paying attention.

Any one here get a reasonable raise in the last 5 yrs?

Food prices are thru the roof. 1 lb of pasta 4 yrs ago was $1. Now its $1.89. Just an example.

Volvo 850s are still a bargain!!!

I agreed with you regarding people are soft these days.

however, regarding salary and raise, my gross income has nearly double within the last 4 years. It is by jumping on job opportunity and doing what I'm good at my job. Hard work pay off. Lazy people won't success because they only do the minimal amount of work.

food prices increase is partly due to inflation and economy. Same thing can be said for gas as it is still cheaper compare to oil embargo prices back in the 80s
