Burn-E Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 If you're talking about this speech then all it represents is him trying to shift the message so that he can move past the scandal. The sooner he can get away from the scandal the better he believes his chances are that he can remain a prime contender. http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/politicsnow/la-pn-christie-bridge-sandy-aid-20140116,0,3446732.story#axzz2qfqZFUZ1
JOHN_CENA Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Rand Paul for President Paul / Paul 2016 i hope it will 2
matt1122 Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Rand Paul can't win a nomination. The Life at Conception Act alone will crush any aspirations he has ever had for higher office, and he's done far too much more than that to piss off moderates. "CC" is in an interesting position. If he did know about these things, he's done. If he didn't, he's probably still done because it puts to question how he's going to run a white house if he can't control a state administration. On the other hand, this is greatly increasing his national recognition. He's big news. If he somehow spins this around, somehow, he could easily run and win the Republican nomination. Don't forget - people are fed up with a president who tip toes around and tries to make every play nice. If Christie somehow convinces people that he's able to get things done and can make things happen... well... I highly doubt it will happen, but worth thinking about.

I highly doubt it will happen, but worth thinking about. other than Jesus Christ coming down and walking up the steps to congress, nobody is going to make these people play nice/nice. quite frankly, CC may piss off the DEMS enough to dig their feet in like the GOP. either way, they all need voted out. I'm petrified of the GOP running all three offices. 2
matt1122 Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 What's valid and what will get votes are two different things, though. How many people vote based on who they think can magically fix the economy? We need a reborn republican party, really. Can't have the left running everything, but the current GOP is terrible. 1
flyfishing3 Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 I'm going to give you a sleeper name for VP or a Pres run if HC bags out. Sherrod Brown. right state, middle of the road guy. reaches across the isle. And more and more i'm convinced Portman is running for VP.
Burn-E Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 That's not a sleeper name. What cracks me up is that some people think Joe Biden is the go to candidate if Clinton decides not to run. If we're talking sleepers, then Martin O'Malley is the man. If we're talking other key candidates? I agree with everyone they call out - especially Warren. Who I think is the real go to candidate if Clinton doesn't run and very possibly a candidate even if Clinton does run. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/06/politics/2016-democratic-field/
flyfishing3 Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 she's to young IMO, but we will be hearing the name Kristen Gillibrand for sure in the future.
Burn-E Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 I'm betting there's a scandal buried in her backyard that comes up if she ever chooses to run for President.
theForgottenone Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Well, this make it more interesting going forward with presidential elections. I can already imaging the conspiracy group after this if certain candidate win with some slim margin of error. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/gambling-on-presidential-elections-in-nevada/
Fishey Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) I'm going to give you a sleeper name for VP or a Pres run if HC bags out. Sherrod Brown. right state, middle of the road guy. reaches across the isle. And more and more i'm convinced Portman is running for VP. Sherrod Brown is anything but middle of the road. He pushes through some of the worst legislation I have ever seen (example Monica Durban law). He is another Obama from an extremely liberal city as well. That being said, Rand Paul will be the next president. The people will vote in droves in conservative counties because the base will be extremely energized by his nomination. Burn-E Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 And more and more i'm convinced Portman is running for VP. Portman says he's out of the running. At least for Prez. Guess we'll have to see if this was an obvious move to improve his chances for the Veep role. http://online.wsj.com/articles/sen-portman-wont-run-for-president-in-2016-1417525691
flyfishing3 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Report Posted December 2, 2014 yeah, heard that today. i always thought he was going to be Mitts VP. Do you have any wild dreams he runs again?
Burn-E Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 Hell no, the only thing that Mitt can do is screw up the election if he runs again. Even though Tricky Dick did it in 68 after losing in 60 and Grover Cleveland was elected non-consecutively I don't think there's a viable opportunity in the modern primary rules for a second place finisher to run again as the Presidential Candidate. We would need a dramatic change in the economy or political environment to support that kind of revolt. That said, Romney got screwed over in so many ways by the Press and by the Obama administration that he must at least feel vindicated to see people calling for him to run again.
flyfishing3 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Report Posted December 2, 2014 i'll give you a few points, but i still think Mitt's handlers cost him the election. Ie, taking positions he didn't have in his heart.
