the butt hurt and crying socialists is nothing short of fantastic. But it was the Roosians!!! Cut the shit. Over 1000 dems lost seats nationwide in state legislatures etc. Policy killed Hillary, not some vast conspiracy. Obama is a petulant child breaking shit everywhere he goes.

Fake news blah blah blah.

My 401k is getting fatter every letter I type.

You folks wanted to maintain the failed status quo of machine politics. It's fucked all of us the last 15 yrs. What do we have to lose changing the pattern? Are you truly afraid of new nuclear threats? Mattis won't let that reckless shit happen, he's buried too many Marines. Nothing gets done unilaterally. No one is repealing abortion so calm down ladies. How will we pay fir tax cuts? Wtf does that even mean? How about we shrink the bloated D.C. criminal organization ?

Fuck it go scorched earth. Relax guys stop being so snowflakey. Plenty of safe spaces, coloring books, and comfort puppies at your local college or university.

Thank God I don't have to deal with the Clinton screech face any more. The wicked witch is dead. And so is Obamas lame ass anti-American agenda.

Now if only Putin could start spiking Soros's tea with polonium....

There is no widespread butthurt or crying. Who are 'you folks', who are you talking down to? It's not like this place was very pro-Hillary. You were always a little out there, but you've jumped in with those who like to hear themselves talk? Go pat yourself on the back for how awesome you are. Bernie was popular in part because he was seen as the anti-machine for the liberal minded. Right or wrong, that was the objective. You can't act like everyone was interested in machine politics.

Paying for tax cuts by shrinking bloat sounds great. But what's the game plan? Trump will just 'be awesome' and it'll shrink? A big part of his campaign was strengthening the military and building a wall. That sounds like expansion to me. I'm not sure repealing the ACA is going to be enough to offset the tax cuts, especially if he'll be spending on military and a wall.

Regardless of election results, you aren't concerned about a President-elect who while campaigning, openly suggested the Russians hack US computers, and that it happened? Even if his suggestion had nothing to do with it, McConnell, McCain and Ryan believe the Russians were attempting to influence our election. There's no concrete evidence released so far, but I doubt you'll ever have that. So are you really willing to disbelieve major republicans, the FBI, the CIA, the current President, and most of the democratic party? They all suggest it happened. That's a pretty large conspiracy. I understand the skepticism, but I don't understand this certainty people have about the issue.

Fuck off with the snowflake shit. Go surround yourself with other like minded types at the nearest bar (be sure to check bumper stickers in the parking lot) and you can all talk about how terrible those people are. Granted, none of you have ever actually met one, but the news told you they're out there. Is it that hard to treat people of opposing views with some respect instead of basically school yard name calling? Are you interested in discussion?

I've been discussing  in this thread for 3 yrs. The persisting concept of socialist utopia via Bernie or Hillary and how consevatives will ruin the world got old. Obama sucked ass. ACA is terrible. Out standing world wide is a joke. The peace dividend in the ME has led to ISIS and the refugee crisis.  Hillary is a crook. Her husband is a serial rapist. Bernie is an outright communist and Jill Stein is a fucking moonbat in the vein of Jerry Brown.

The US is too stable for one person to ruin it. You anti trump folks are running around like Chicken Little. Now Poor Fudge Brownie is angry with my immature words ?  To fucking bad.

BLM only cares if it's not about Chicago murders.

Folks freaked out about Brexit. The U.K. Market is up nearly 15% since the vote.

Regular folks are sick of the bullshit. What's to discuss my chocolate baked concoction?  STOP TAXING ALL THE THINGS!  STOP REGULATING ALL THE THINGS. STOP THE MORAL EQUIVILANCY. STOP THE BULLSHIT POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. There I discussed it. Carry on.

I'm going to light my coal fired stove and heat my house to 85 degrees. Hope you're downwind.

I know this is probably the least relevant thing you said, but what basis do you have to say Bill Clinton is a serial rapist?

The undertone of your post is that I somehow represent whatever the opposite of 'regular folks' are, that I'm somehow associated with 'anti trump folks running around like Chicken Little'. Just because I don't agree with everything you have to say does not mean I'm some pro-Hillary or pro-Bernie moron. I didn't like either. You're literally making shit up in your head. I don't care if you have a coal fired stove. WTF? Jill Stein isn't the only moonbat. What is the point of just e-shouting random things? Shit, that condescending guy on the internet randomly shouted to stop taxing all things. Guess I better look in to that.

Ever since the update I can't parse out quotes, good to see you back in the debate Sean.

1. The United States has many social systems in place, the flux of which depends on how much each administration wants to raise or lower taxes to fill those programs.  Your age and your progeny dictate which you think are important - and the funding over decades has drastic consequences.  Its not a zero sum game.

2. Since 2008 the US has seen a complete and utter rebound in our economy from the recession, but the rich have still gotten richer and the poor, poorer.  You don't mention Congress "sucking ass" as that is how real change is made in any president's administration.

3. 6.4 million Americans are now covered for 2017, a 400,000 person increase than last year.  Health care is expensive due to our private system.  It has to be paid somehow and until the 20 and 30 somethings are forced (single payer) to pay it will continue to go up as the US population ages.

4. We are still the richest and most powerful nation in the world, and more people immigrate (legally) to the US than any other country in the world.  If we want to continue this trend we need more skilled immigrants, not less.

5. That ball got rolling in 1991, and then in 2003 with the oil wars in Iraq.  Funny how we found we can frack and its not longer a oil issue, but one of terrorism.

6. Who in politics isn't?  I believe 100% she is a better human than our president elect.

7. Did he grab them by the pussy, and talk about it before a TV show?  At least he was not a serial rapist show boat.

8. Jill Stein would take you to her shed, light a fatty for you and you'd vote for her next cycle after 20 minutes.

9. The president elect thinks computers and email are bad forms of communication.  Tweets are the new way to conduct foreign policy.  That seems like a stable way to run the US, on tweets.

10. See # 9, or pretty much everything Trump has said, then denies saying it.  Its on record, and he lies and says what he says on record he didn't say.  America is not a fucking TV show.  Millions of peoples lives depend on him being a rational, reliable, human being.  I would take one of three.

11. Its OT politics, deal with it.

12. Not sure what this means, only blacks live in Chicago?

13. Sure, seen the pound versus the dollar recently, or maybe the Euro?  The UK if Brexit goes through will lose millions of jobs, you are seeing financial stocks rally and those will also leave due to their restrictions as well.  People are more afraid of the radical Islamic boogey man coming to get them than saving their own asses and jobs.  Really rational thinking.

14.  Who is a regular folk?  Rust belt people who voted for Trump?  I sure hope he delivers for them, it will make my life better for sure.  But that's where his promise falls short.

15.  Make sure you let the CO out, that coal will only last so long before its gone.

so all media is fake news? Except for Fox News, of course

No, fake news has no actual business, no mailing address, no real names, no points of contact, no phone number, and/or an entirely fabricated story. Fake news is defined very easily from false, misleading, inaccurate, or biased news.

Actually, fake news would be better described by the term social scientists use for it:

the woozle effect

The point is that fake news can be disseminated by any major news source of various types of media.  What is critical is evaluating how well the news providers substantiate what they broadcast in order to protect the integrity of their reporting.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woozle_effect

The Woozle effect, also known as evidence by citation,[1] or a woozle, occurs when frequent citation of previous publications that lack evidence misleads individuals, groups and the public into thinking or believing there is evidence, and nonfacts become urban mythsand factoids.[2

Here's a clear example of how that trail works using the Trump "kompromat" as the material:

It [publishing] happened via a series of steps by various actors, each of whom relied on the actions of those before them to justify their own decisions. BuzzFeed presumably published it in part because CNN was reporting on it. CNN was reporting on it because intelligence officials had briefed Trump on it. Intelligence officials briefed Trump on it because senior congressional leaders were passing it around. Senior congressional leaders may have been passing it around in part because Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid alluded to it in a letter blasting FBI Director James Comey for publicizing information harmful to Hillary Clinton but not publicizing the dirt on Trump. Each act lowered the bar for those who followed to act on information that they knew might or might not be true.

It's an interesting problem. Quite the clusterfuck. By the time intelligence officials are being briefed on it, sounds like it's been in enough hands to at least acknowledge it's existence. Which is what CNN did. Seems BuzzFeed relegated themselves to tabloid status by publishing it though. If they wanted to be respected as a news organization, I don't see how that was the right move.

How do you handle the problem of trying to be the first to publish? Seems like they're grappling with publishing basically living news articles, which they update as they go. At first glance, it doesn't seem like BuzzFeed spent much time fact checking.
