I have taken my '01 S60 2.4T to them multiple times and had a few problems. Since this is a dealership, of course repairs do cost and arm and a leg out of warranty.

Also, over the four times I have brought the vehicle in, three times they have found an oil leak around the pipe return seal on the turbo. Three times they have fixed this. Each time they discover this leak, they act as if it is brand new and very serious until I point out that the last time I was in they had already fixed that. Both times the rep looked it up in the computer, confirmed they had already done that work, and that they would cover the fix on a 1-year parts warranty, but it probably wasn't important after all.

There was also an issue with them diagnosing a problem on the first visit, and then after not repairing the problem (my choice), the next time I brought the car in the problem had disappeared or resolved itself. I realize this may come from a finicky car, but with my other experience there, it seems a little fishy.

I have no conspiracy theories, but with the visits I've made, I don't feel completely comfortable taking my car there. However, if you have a warranty, I'm sure that would be a great place to take it since anything found (legitimate or not) will most likely be covered.

Repairs: questionable diagnosis

Cost: $$$$$ (out of warranty)

Time: acceptable (may take a day to get to your car, but then takes the time expected)

Overall: Under Warranty (B), out of warranty (C-)

I bought a certified abused car from Stan. pre "00 V70 turbo. I didn't know *** about Volvo, believed all the *** about Volvo quality, 8 zillion point inspections, Volvo quality repairs. Gouges in the undercarriage behind the engine! Air guides missing, radiator bracket broken, bumper replaced, half assed paint sprayed all under the front end....They just f***ging lied about it. Regular service department fixed a lot of things under warranty, that the used car department said they couldn't fix. Used car dept claimed to have aligned the front end three times, pulled to the right. Took it in at next service interval, regular service department told me the front end was way out , it was aligned correctly "under warranty". Just one big disappointment. Fortunately I totaled it just about the time, they told me the motor mounts and most of the front end was shot. If the my regular service writer hadn't been so great, I don't think I would've ever touched a Volvo again. But hey, if you're going to total a car, it should be a Volvo.. Bought a P2 V70 turbo, had it gone over by an independent first. A few glitches, but mostly trouble free, and the service department found things I never noticed, and replaced under warranty. How great they are depends on how easy it is for you to pay the bill.

Got a white 2005 S40 here with good warranty and for pretty much what Kelley Blue Book said it was worth. No problems so far although only had the car for maybe 3 weeks. I'd say 4 out of 5, but really haven't had anything to do with them other than dealing, wasn't bad though, no pressure to buy.

Rating: 2 out of 5

This review will be based on their service as I've never purchased a car from Roger Beasley. Also, this is the one off 290. Not the one in Round Rock.

First experience: Trying to get my S40 aligned. Cool, so I drop it off and let them go to work. Get a call an hour later saying "Uhh yea our tech says this is going to be hard and will cost you $200." Now I'll admit, I have on aftermarket rear control arms, but the addition of these arms makes it actually EASIER to align.

Regardless, I let the service writer know that and he says "well come pick up your car then." It's not so much they didn't bother to put fourth any effort to just do an alignment, but the fact he just blatantly had no intent of rectifying the situation made me irritated. I said "no problem" and drove it to Volvo of Dallas. They did it no problem, no extra fee, and even offered to let me have a brand new C30 loaner while it was going on. Kudo's VoD

The only redeeming value to this was afterwards, I decided to take their online survey they email you and told them how I honestly felt. Later that same day the Service Manager called my cell and we discussed the situation and offered to align it. By this time I'd already set the appointment at VoD and politely declined. (It should be noted that this is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.)

Second experience: Today I brought in a V70 I recently purchased from a private party. The car came with Volvo wheel locks but the last person to put them on must have used an air gun and really cranked them down. So when I go to remove them, I end up stripping the key. Great.

Take it to Roger Beasley against my better judgement thinking "hey maybe I'll get a rad service writer and they can just zip them off really quick." I didn't even want them on anymore so I figured taking off 4 bolts wouldn't be too big of a deal. Called Joe and asked if I could swing by after work. "No. Can't. Too busy." Cool, I understand. "Is it cool if I swing by tomorrow morning before work?" "Yea that's fine."

Next morning I speak to Jim. I get that mornings are busy, too, collecting everyones car for the day. Again, this isn't my first rodeo. So we talk about it for a second and he says "Oh we may have to break them off and that's $119. Can you leave it for like an hour?" Err what? I had to get to work so I again politely decline and made an appointment for the next morning to hopefully discuss it a bit more.

NEXT morning: Show up at my appointment time, wait for 20 minutes for someone to talk to me. He said essentially the same thing and I just say "Let me know if they can get them off because I don't want to break them off." Hell I could do that by myself if I wanted to without paying $120. I go chill in the waiting room for 2 hours, come out, and they managed to get them off without breaking them. Cool! "Ok your total is $119." WHAT??? I'm not looking for handouts or free service by any means, but seriously??

So that's it ladies and gents, final straw. I'm driving to DFW and going to Autobahn or VoD from now on. They know me on a first name basis and occasionally pull some solid favors. Moral of this story, put fourth the effort to make me happy and I'll make sure I direct business your way.
