Trunks850R
So I lowered my S70 and can't decide which wheels I want to run on it. Ive noticed the wheels sit REALLY close to the strut. Who else has this problem? I haven't heard any rubbing, but right now I have Atlantis wheels on one side and pegs on the other and they're both a tight fit. Do I HAVE to run spacers? _HighVoltage_
Even with 17 inch pegs the wheel is dangerously close to the strut - last time Discount Tire installed a clip on wheel wight on one of the fronts and it was rubbing against the strut. I had to the take it back to get stick on weights. It's THAT close!
andyb5
Well since all Pegs are 8" wide, diameter doesn't really make a difference
kalvin
As long as there are more than a few millimeters of space between the wheel and the strut tube you should be fine. The only way they will contact is if your shock or wheel is flexing dramatically to do so. If that is the case then I think you may have some bigger problems. Trunks850R
Well since all Pegs are 8" wide, diameter doesn't really make a difference Oh what would we do without the peanut gallery?? I don't remember asking anything about rim diameters, and obviously my concern is with the width of the wheel. Thats why I pointed out that I have Atlantis wheels on the other side. Do they even make Atlantis wheels in anything other then 18s? Guess ill get the other 2 pegs on tonight!
andyb5
That was in reply to HighVoltage's comment about clearance with 17" Pegs being close to the strut But here's some advice from the Peanut Gallery you'll find useful: Atlantis were only 18x7, et+49. OE pegs are 8" wide, and et+43. This means that the Pegs will sit ~7mm closer to the strut than the Atlantis will. If your Pegs are IPD reps, they are 8" wide and et+38. This means that they will sit ~2mm closer to the strut than the Atlantis do. Oh, and lowering your car has nothing to do with a wheel clearing the strut body or not. Idiot. Dick Dastardly
the only thing more sensitive around here than dick size is wheel measurements..

D s50r
oem 18" pegs on D2 No problems aside from the lame turning radius. you must have the jet tuning chip that changes the wheel spacing aswell
sacrifice
If the wheel/tire sits closer than an inch to the strut assembly it can definitely be deemed unsafe for use on public roadways.
