I'm using them because there was a 205/55/16 set laying around with probably 85% tread left. Can't say I'm a fan. First observation is the noise (which I could care less about). I used to have the General Altimax Arctics and they were almost unbearably noisy. Above 55mph the noise was terrible. So I'd be curious to hear what would be good and relatively quiet winter tires. I'm on my second set now - love the traction, and I don't really care about road noise, especially given most of my driving is around campus and not on the highway.
