Sooo....what's Going On With Lucky?

As for this tune melting down in 2 weeks... this makes me wonder a few things.

Who installed the ARD tune? I say that because the first reaction was to have it towed to a dealer and have them install a brandnew factory ECU?? Are there pictures of said melted tune??

The only thing I think would cause components to overheat like that would be poor electrical contact. Example... a bad laptop power adapter connection can cause components to get very hot.

The ECu was put in by a volvo tech at a dealer. i had the ecu shipped to me from lucky. Yes i had a factory ecu installed. I was not going to wait for another tune that could potentially break again.

Sorry I missed this thread until now.

I'm the OP of the thread over on T5D5.

I never posted the same thread here on VS as 1) I'm not as active over here, and 2) I figured that the light emanating from Lucky's arse might obfuscate the message.

Based on recent posts (both here and elsewhere) I guess I may have been wrong about 2).

I'm not going to cut and paste my thread, if you want to read it it's here - ARD tuning bad review.

If I haven't covered all bases then I'll be happy to answer any questions that anyone has to ask about my experience.

Ask him how he got his base tunes. Curious to hear his response.

You mean he doesn't have a fleet of cars to test them all out on the dyno...

I'll pile on too. I've never done business with ARD. And I'm not on his bandwagon. I did get close to buying a Blue tune, but when he dicked me around and tried doing a bait and switch with me at Carlisle, I bailed. I was angry that he lied to me several times, tried to get more money out of me and having him waste my time for almost a year.

And Riker, you are obviously under Lucky's spell, so maybe you should just sit back and listen and not try and confront anyone. Mikes ECU was fine for 7 years, and then 2 weeks after ARD tune, it's toast... It must have been his "lucky" day...

I will ask one thing, where is this softloader that was promised years ago? How's that coming...

There was another prominent member here that had an IPD tune for a long time, then had a "custom" tune done by Lucky. Two months later he had a cracked number 3 cyl wall and was pulling the engine.

Under Lucky's spell. LOL Is that what I get called for questioning someone's ECU melting down? I've never heard of anyone having this issue before... thus why I asked.

I'm a little not shocked that it was installed by a dealer. Typical SS. ^_^

Just out of curiosity, since I've been told my ECU is potentially bad (and in lieu of this whole thread), is there anyone other than ARD that can do manual tunes on ME7? Just wondering what to do in the event that my ECU does go to crap.

I remember our converstion about him... He should come forward too... I think his words would silence a lot of the "Kool-aid drinkers"... ;)

Easy now, those of us who have never personally been ripped off by ARD have no business commenting here. Apparently you have to spend $800 on a tune to know he's full of crap (or at least to be a reputable source)

Joe

I know, can't comment on being scammed if I'm smart enough to know when I'm being scammed...
