jross
Nick Shadoff Rating: 4 Comments: Sales staff is snooty and rude. We spent 10 minutes crawling through an S70 before a salesman approached us and said "Is there something you NEED!?" He then proceeded to grill us as to whether we were worthy of his product...really treated us like trailer-trash. When it came time to order, the salesman told me I was "making a big mistake" by not ordering the cold weather pkg. that I didn't want. The service dept. is mediocre. The work is done correctly and quickly, and they generally treat us courteously, but we've had to beg for a loaner before, and when a 3rd party bodyshop needed parts for our car, Tom Wood a) Sent a broken headlight assembly, sent a trim piece for the wrong side of the car, and c) took several weeks to accomplish this. The dealer in Indy is OUTRAGOUS compared to our dealership in Lexington KY when it comes to SERVICE! Thier prices for parts and labor are over 20% higher at that dealership! Their "misc" fees seem to add 10% more to the bill on top of parts & labor! Does anyone know of and or have any experience with alternative automotive service centers in Indy IN that are good and reasonable? Love our VOLVO's and don't mind paying for great service, but give me a break! Thanks............. Jay W

The only decent Volvo service department I've found around here is up north at Napleton Autoworks. Tom Wood quoted me at $250 for my software upgrade on my S40, Napleton quoted me at $80. They also said "Stop by anytime, it only takes a few minutes." But of course Tom Wood could "squeeze me in" first thing next month.Don't ever let her go to Champaign Volvo either, it's a pit. The woman there told me my transmission fluid was a "lifetime fluid" and told me I didn't need my tranny software upgrade even though there is a TSB for it. jhb8426
Well, no face to face experience w/them, but I recently bought a 2006 V70 2.5T from them over the internet/phone. Everything worked out well. I was able to negotiate a reasonable deal with them and they were very helpful in making all the arrangements, including shipping. David McDowall was very helpful throughout the transaction.
