Boxpin,

Kindly comments on your Sachs 707 and Clutchnet 6 pucks combo please. Im following this thread very closely...

Thank you

So far...sucks. I will say this, it will never slip again.

Its a battle to drive it. Its very strong on the pedal. There is not much room for a smooth take off. Its engaged or not engaged. I have been driving it for two days and I came up on some traffic today and all I could think about is how tired my leg was going to be. This is day two though so I am getting used to it and finding that a little more RPMs at take off help a lot. It grips amazing as in chirps the tires in first gear if your not careful.

So, after two days:

1. Very hard pedal movement

2. Clutch grabs, there is no denying that. It will hold whatever I throw at it.

3. Tough daily driver

I am hoping that with some time it will calm down and become common place. I will report back in a week or so.

very curious to hear your impressions on that new intercooler

Not to thread jack but I just put in a do88 intercooler myself and am thoroughly impressed. I'm running a TMM9 tune, and after installing the do88 with no modifications to the tune the max psi jumped from ~19-20 to 23 and the boost had to be scaled back in the tune due to the added efficiency of the intercooler.

Still running the FMIC at the moment. I just wanted to get it back on the road. The DO88 is in place but not piped. Probably a week or so. I am in break in mode.

I could be totally wrong here but if pressure is a result of restriction wouldn't having more pressure as a result of a new intercooler be an indicator of higher restriction, rather than greater efficency?

Truthfully I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer that I was just regurgitating what I was told. Hopefully someone with a better understanding can chime in.

Restrictions cause an increase in velocity and a decrease in pressure. Assume in-compressible, inviscid flow aft of the compressor wheel and simplfy the Bernoulli equation if you want to prove it yourself.

The D088 presents less of an restriction, which leads to slower air flow and therefore higher pressure.

Cant remember who posted it but someone said they needed to use spacers on the DO88 intercooler. Maybe they saw that and made some changes but I found that there was zero touching anywhere. No spacing needed.

* a bit worried now, will be running the same set up.... and being not that young anymore.......we will see.

Trust me, I am right there with you.

The pressure plate is strong. The disc grabs really well. The combination of the two makes it a very small window for engaging the clutch. That in combination with the lightened flywheel causes you to have to rev a bit to make the whole thing work. I am going to use it through the breaking period and tuning. Other options would be to use the 707 with the R disc or the R pressure plate with the 6puck.
