I am guessing your exhaust system is angled incorrectly and forcing the DP to rotate at the turbo.  The only way to really fix it is to fix the exhaust so it isn't putting that rotation force on the V-Band.

I have about a 1/4 inch of space between the firewall and sway. Any movement, be it small, can cause it to tag. I would like to position it in the center and have it held there. I will work on the rest of the exhaust hangers to relieve any tension.

For the exhaust hangars, you can put a standard worm-drive clamp around the rubber bushing to relieve the tension/pull the exhaust into alignment.

To fix the V-band rotation, could you weld a small tab on the clamp and two on the exhaust so that the clamp is physically constrained by the tabs on the pipe?

I want to but am to lazy to package and post stuff. I have a 80% complete FMIC, some BOV's, MSD 6A's, Intakes, 16T, 18T, 19T, Blah, blah, blah.

If you're in Rocklin you just live right up 80E from me. Wouldn't have to box anything and would be a good chance to off load some of your parts the easiest way and I can just meet up and pick them up and you can continue building that beastly wagon.

Wife popped the motor in our wagon so I have to go get another motor and put it back together but figured in the mean time I might as well at least swap the turbo I plan to use down the line to avoid that headache.

Plus it'd be fun to have another box running around town with a little heat.

So where is everybody finding these horribly cheap rn 2.3's at? I was reading the tightmopedman thread and he had an awesome source by the sounds of it. Not much here in Alberta Canada, though i would stray across the border for one.

I need ideas on how to stop a V-band from rotating.

My exhaust is moving and touching the sway. Looking for ideas to keep the v-band from the turbo from rotating.

I had the same issue on my 850, John.  We welded tiny dots along the v-band face (downpipe side) to help create higher pressure points and give it more grip.  On the s60, there are hangers at the rear of the subframe so it isnt' an issue anymore.

I have had that issue with exhaust shops as well.  Their solution didn't work and was worse than when I started.

I ended up going to a small race shop and he had it fixed in an hour.

They are a dime a dozen out here.
