boxpin Posted April 11, 2014 Author Report Posted April 11, 2014 Dual exhaust next? Yes, thats the plan. I was laying on the ground looking under there last night contemplating how to do it. Looks like everything would have to come from the drivers side. I can Y the pipe and make that happen. In my happy world I was hoping to run the electric cutout to the second tip but I dont think thats going to be possible.
boxpin Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Posted April 12, 2014 Took apart the trans today. Replaced a syncro, seals and one bearing.
boxpin Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 Something very interesting I noticed on the 1/2 gear cluster. There were stampings on one of the gears. The trans I have has a 3.77 final drive. I wonder if these numbers identify that???
lookforjoe Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Volvo part numbers are typically 7-digits. 1377960 comes up as a 'trailing wheel' about $330. The FD ratio wouldn't be stamped on an individual gear - it would be on the ring gear if anywhere....
boxpin Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 I didnt see anything else and I looked. Seems odd that they would put a sticker on it and call it done. No matter, just wondered.
wizzard_al Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Where did you get the syncrho? Salvage from another trans?
boxpin Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 I have two other parts trans. They come in handy.
lookforjoe Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 I have two other parts trans. They come in handy. Nice :-)
boxpin Posted April 18, 2014 Author Report Posted April 18, 2014 Got the head, exhaust and turbo on today. Also installed some jewels.
timsen Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Awesome build! Question, what size steelies and tires are you running upfront in your sig picture?
boxpin Posted May 18, 2014 Author Report Posted May 18, 2014 Finally got a hold of a RN hard water pipe. Thanks Matt. I decided to use the RN pipe but after I had put everything together I noticed that the expansion tank line interferes with the fuel lines. Apart it came. You can see the upper RN pipe is shifted over just enough to be in the way. Cut the down water pipe spout off and moved it to the N pipe. Thought mig welding might end up rusting so I brazed it. and all done. I got so close to dropping it in this afternoon but was held up by the passenger side engine mount, I had ordered the wrong one.
FINN Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 So close. When is the last time you drove it? I'm finding any excuse to run errands to take mine out.
