Timbo Slice
Hamilton is great bang for your buck. Excellent craftsmanship, a nice history and heritage, and it doesn't break the bank.

Timbo Slice
Very nice! What's the reference on that? I've been wearing this one just about every day since I got it back from getting serviced in the beginning of March.
gmsgltr
Not sure the reference on this - got the info back at home though. Bought it on my first customer field service call as a starting point in my career etc. Really want this as my next big purchase but we need new windows and this is one new window lol:

TheCapn
One of the daily bangers, I'd really like to buy a nice automatic but I know I'd destroy it
gmsgltr
Been thinking about getting a Mondaine Swiss Railway with the mesh band lately... \looking at those and maybe getting a Diver again as mine is gone. Don't ask. I like the Orient because its just not as common and its a great bang for your buck..
Timbo Slice
Skip the Orient and get a Seiko. A bit more expensive but it's a company with a great history and you are guaranteed to get a much nicer watch for your money. I bought two SKX007's about a year ago, one for me and one for my best friend who was getting married, and the total was around $400 for both. You can't get a better package than that watch for $200. I'd recommend checking out all of their dive watches though as they make quite a few different models. If you do look at Seiko's, don't get a Seiko 5 dive watch. They are a bit less expensive, but their automatic movements aren't as great as the SKX watches, rather they're more in line with what Orient uses. Pay a little more and get the better movement. Also, it's funny you bumped this thread today. I just bought a new timepiece less than an hour ago. gmsgltr
I had a Seiko Diver and loved it, SRP493 It seems the Orient is better than the Seiko 5 Diver, but the Original Seiko Diver SK models is the way to go. Maybe I'll get the blue/red orient and the black Seiko haha
Timbo Slice
Here's what I have. SKX007 on rubber dive strap. I also have the Jubilee bracelet for it and I would recommend against it. It's alright but kinda loud with all the links clanging against eachother. The rubber strap is great and extremely comfortable, and if you do want a stainless alternative for a band you can buy a 22mm Super Oyster bracelet specifically for the SKX watches for about $55. https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX007K-Divers-Automatic-Watch/dp/B000B5MI3Q/ref=sr_1_2?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1474479155&sr=1-2&nodeID=6358539011&keywords=SKX007 Here's the one I bought for my buddy. Same as my SKX007 but with rectangular markers. I prefer round, but to each their own. https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX173-Stainless-Polyurethane-Automatic/dp/B00068TJ76/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1474479279&sr=1-1&nodeID=6358539011&keywords=SKX173 Looks like the prices went up on both since I bought them last year. Keep an eye out on r/WatchExchange. Tons of Seikos, Citizens, Orients, etc for sale every single day at excellent price points.
