Nice work!! B) I also bought myself a V70 when I was 15, now 1 1/2 years later I turned 17 so I'm finally able to drive it legally  Your V70R looks gorgeous, I really like the color and the wheels. In my opinion Comets are the best wheels for an x70 ^_^ Keep on the good work!

Update: Installed Koni yellows up front.

BUT it was squeaking like a mofo on the PS soo after being annoyed with that for a week, we took out the strut to do some investigating.

As i turns out. the thicker, and slightly tighter coils were hitting the bumbstop plate

So we took that out and grinded it like a couple at a high school dance.

VOILA no more squeaky business.

Nice work, the car looks great. What did you do for rear springs? Also, did you reseal the angle gear yourself?

Cut two coils off the rear springs. (Disclaimer: that's a legitimate mod, not some ricer bullshit). But I'm sure youre aware of that ^_^

To add to the washer grinding, we ended up grinding all the way around the washer and took appx .050 off the sides, for a diameter reduction of .100 of an inch in the event that the washer turned upon re-assembly. It seems that the top pigtail on some of the IPD springs is wound a bit too tight, causing it to shift in the spring seat and rub the bumpstop washer. I recommend anyone installing aftermarket springs to check for this.

This thread has been tiding me over while I've been working on getting my '00 R roadworthy-not saying I'm going to copy everything you've done, but it might end up being very similar. Nice work!

Finally got off my ass and polished the TME strut brace I picked up from Brandon (volvoskiah) at Carlisle. Was painted dark red with black paint peeling on the brackets. sanded the brackets a little and did a quick pass of primer on them.
