Hi friends, possibly looking into a couple P1 m66's in the near future...anything I should look for? It'll just be a unit from a dismantler, so I dont think itll have all the accessories.

Also, i know ill have to grind some of the housing to fit the subframe, get special axles (blackT5 did that i believe), hussein bracket, clutch assembly/flywheel, shifter (fortunately p1 shifters fit easier) and i know im leaving other small bits out. but yeah any info about throwing a P1 M66 in, that i probably dont already know off, would be helpful. Thanks!

P.S. I have done some reading, I just dont want to miss any important things.

And Steveo does BMac's tunes. Comparing the customers, I'd trust BMac more than Connor any day. This is not a reflection on Connor being a piece of shit or anything like that, but Ben has always been straight up with me with everything I've dealt with involving him.

Connor on the other hand hasn't been 100%, such as when he told me he was bringing me perfect mechanical and aesthetic front struts for my car, which ended up being a bit quicker return than expected and full of surface rust.

I am in no way bashing Hilton tunes or Connor's recommendation and knowledge, but for the reason that Ben has always been 100% trustworthy I went with a Steveo tune and am very happy. The fact that he easily got Tom's car running is just icing on the cake.

Intradesting.....very intradesting.....

I wasn't sure how Steve-o was with manual tunes, but I'll lean towards him. Hilton, I have no experience with and have only heard about them with Connors tunes. Steve-o on the other hand, has a bit more rapport imo considering he's done more cars of people I know now that I think about it.

BUT thats down the road. Tell me about the P1 tranny. How easy is it to swap in as far as the actual unit. What do I need as far as mounts and shit.

You need a Hussein bracket to use the stock tranny mount. Otherwise the transmission itself is a direct bolt-in. You want axles from a 00 XC, your stock ones do not work. You should shave the webbing on the drivers side of the transmission to make it easier to remove the axle should you need to in the future. P1 shifter base has to be modified some to bolt up to our console, but its pretty much a direct fit. Use the shift cables that match the transmission you're using - so, if you have a P1 M66 get the shifter and cables as well.

Clutch options are split between either dual or single mass. Stock clutch for that tranny is a dual mass, and I know a few C30 guys at 300+ whp on the stock clutch without problems. An upgrade from that would be the AP Racing (Kalmar Union) setup that Hussein has. A single mass setup would require you to use an 850R flywheel, pressure plate and the Sachs SD693 clutch:

I dont think I will, you mean the rear mount? Its awd so the angle gear is in place of that.

And the m66 is stock dm so im not gonna convert to sm if i dont have to.

ALSO is the fact that its internal slave really a big deal? should/can i service it before its installed?
