floggingmike
How much of the center console really gets removed though? And I guess I could go delrin. Not on my priority list, I understand the whole "youre already in there" mentality of it though. What fiberglass reinforcement are you referencing? I definitely need that. Basically use bondo/fiberglass to strengthen/rebuild the mounting tabs, as well as the whole backside of the dash. The problem with our dashes is more than just those 4 tabs. If you push/pull on any of them, you will see a large area around them begin to flex. Adam gave me the idea, and my dash is completely solid now. Probably for the first time in 15 years. I forgot to take pictures of the process, here's adams writeup. The metal tab method a lot of people do/used to do does absolutely nothing, because the plastic still cracks, and theres still stress in the rest of the dash. https://www.amazon.com/3M-Fiberglass-Resin-Repair-Pint/dp/B000BO9NOO/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1479871227&sr=8-33-spons&keywords=bondo+fiberglass&psc=1 I used two of these.
floggingmike
Awesome. Yeah I know people have done the metal route...but that just pushes stress to the next weakest link of course.

All 4 of the auto gear selector bolts pass through a black plastic piece that secures the dash to the center tunnel of the car. You will have to cut most of that piece away or remove it entirely for the P1 shifter to fit under the center console. It makes a noticeable difference in vertical dash movement. I've seen my whole dash move a couple times (all 4 firewall mounts are broken off).

apeacock
Andy put it pretty good. I even have a loose one that is uncut to mock up some sort of auxiliary brace. Just a tight space it work within and not much to bolt it all too. He sub-frame bushings are cool and I can't say I saw any negatives to having them in there. They help with turn in steering angle correction (I think I'm describing that correctly) When you turn the car say 15* and then the engine weight shifts you have to turn in a little harder to correct for the weight change. This reduces that movement requiring the second movement and weight transfer.
Brad850
I've noticed with the kaplhenke sub bushings just starting from a stop is so much smoother and more instant. The car feels planted, and the added vibration is negligible. As far as my daily goes it makes the car so much more pleasant to drive. I have them in the R too, but that's currently getting a shit load of other suspension thingers and I haven't pushed it around corners yet.
