I am super-excited for the World Cup that kicks off tomorrow.

I have even shifted my work schedule around just so that I can watch as many matches as possible.

My country (Bosnia) is in it for the first time...just us making it to World Cup is huge feat in and of itself.

Anything beyond that is a bonus...I do believe we have a decent chance to get out of our group and into the Round of 16. More than anything, I'm just looking forward to enjoying watching the tournament.

Anyone else looking forward to it?

Sick of hearing about it already, every time I turn on the tv there's something related to football.. Think I'll go live in the garage with the car for the next few months.

Argentina takes the cup this year. They have by far the easiest route to the finals.

My prediction is Argentina and Brazil meet up in the final. And Argentina has the better team this year even with Brazil enjoying home country advantage.

USA! USA!

Are just happy to be there. Unlikely to get a win unless Ronaldo is injured. You have 3 world class teams between Germany, Portugal and Ghana. Any one of them could go deep.

You are seriously underestimating the US, and it's borderline ignorant to think they aren't world class. They are no top 5, but they are better than everyone else in the group (sans Germany).

Portugal is really a one trick pony, and even if CR7 is playing, shut him down in the midfield and they aren't winning anything. Ghana is only good because they seem to be the US's kryptonite, i.e. '06, but they are not as skilled as the US, just played with a lot more heart. A tie against Germany is entirely possible, but it will take a miracle to beat them. This is not even counting the fact that Germany will probably destroy the group.

It's still the world cup..anyone's game

Stats don't lie, nor do the odds. USA will be lucky to win a game and highly unlikely they will make it out of the group stage since both Germany and Portugal are the likely 1G and 2G teams.

I didn't say the USMNT wasn't world class, what I said was they're facing three teams who have the capacity to go deep in the knock out stage and two of them likely will. Everyone, including Klinsmann agree the US won't do that.

Let's just accept the fact that football is a sport the US Men still do not excel at. We don't have a deep roster of great players who are playing in the European leagues or elsewhere. The MLS remains a retirement league for talented players from elsewhere in the world who want to cash in on their name and reputation from their younger years.
