DragosD
...tap into constant power that's running into the dome light... ...Also had constant lighting in the front footwells... Constant lighting is not a good idea if you ever plan to take a long trip during the night time. Does anyone actually use their dimmer switch? Take my advice: black-out on long highway trips to reduce eye fatigue.
T5power
The way they are designed to work is to eliminate direct eye contact, so the LED should be hidden enough where it will not shine into your eyes. When I get paid Friday i'll be starting this project!
jschaefer7406
Starting with the P1 platform they had Ambient lighting Never noticed it on the P1 cars when I was a tech, but then again, never worked on any at night . Constant lighting is not a good idea if you ever plan to take a long trip during the night time. We drove the XC60 3-4 hours home at night and didn't notice any issues. The lighting in the footwells was subtle, not bright enough to cause distraction etc . I see what you're saying though, wouldn't hurt to tap into the dimmer circuit just in case .
