manoduv
I'm sure there is a simple solution that I'm oblivious to, here is my situation: 97 855R, so I had an SC-815 when I bought the car. FM didn't work, but CD and AM was fine. I did the Aux to cassette mod for a bit but recently purchased Blaupunkt Adelaide 130 from Crutchfield with the included install kit. Soldered the wires together and covered with electrical tape (would have used a better method but I didn't want to have to go out and buy something). Had one extra pink "Radio Mute" wire, as well as the steering wheel controls. Plugged it all in and it powered up just fine, but I don't have any audio out of FM/AM or Aux. Is there something obvious I missed? Thanks
BEJinFBK
I'm pretty sure that all of the R's shipped with an external amp. Have a look at the two main connectors - Is the one with all of the speaker connections missing most of the wires on the car side of the connections? And have you got a leftover round, 6-pin DIN plug floating around back there ( that used to be plugged into the 815, using a port marked AMP? ). If you've answered Yes to these questions, follow the main connectors back into the dash and dig around for their foam-covered dopplegangers. Unplug'em and reconnect your new wiring adapter harness into them instead. Now, Congratulate Yourself - You've just bypassed the OEM external amp! Will check this evening, thank you.
