project_850
I did: I ran the wires under the car, super easy using the Taylor Vertex kit. For my wife's car I actually copied what you did with your 855R:
Kit Vexed
It's not necessarily the weight of the battery, it's the distribution of the battery weight on the vehicle. They're mounted in the front drivers side, same side as your trans...same side as driver. Moving the battery to the trunk lightens the load on the front end, the biggest improvement I noticed was handling and braking performance after battery relocation. wait.. didn't you just say it wasn't about the WEIGHT?? your ENTIRE explanation is about weight lol... if you had a lighter battery (like a Li ion) wouldnt the "distribution" be better since you're taking weight off the front either way?? it would also save space seeing as lighter batteries are less than half the size.. do you also drive around with a FULL tank of gas for the sake of this distribution lol? so the answer is to add weight running more wire to the trunk so a battery is mounted within the spare tire space.. so much for the spare tire and it's added weight distribution to the rear.. better hope you dont get a flat for the sake of "distribution" greg. since it's going to be a race car though, a spare tire wont matter much since you have a pit crew following you around. Brad850
Moving it to the back will still be better than simply buying a lighter battery. Wires don't weigh that much so that is a bad argument. Greg I would just build a housing for it (somewhere other than wheel well). He won't be able to retain his meth setup with a smaller battery, and a smaller battery still probably won't suffice for what he has in mind regarding an intake setup. Greg didn't even mention weight distribution so your suggestion is irrelevant my friend!

And if you look a little closer at the thread link I posted you'll notice i also retained the spare tire you s.o.b.
Falcone
I bought 25ft of black 0 gauge cable. Went to Jy and grabbed a fuse distribution block from the trunk of a 540i, and tore all my interior wiring out. Re did everything to run thru the fuse block. Only powered what I needed Wiring the cabin Back together Battery is a gel battery thats mounted by the wheel well in the trunk. Still have my spare
