burnout8488
I just landed a complete Dynaudio kit for my S70 but three of the tweeters are blown. I need three dash tweeters from a 98-04 C70. (I will be retrofitting the third dash tweeter into the proprietary S70 rear tweeter housing) I have pulled many C70 Dynaudio tweeters in the past and all of them have been blown, so testing these prior to sale is crucial. Hooking up to a low-volume home stereo seems to work. Thanks!
(n)A-GAME
FYI they won't sound good at all. TL;DR the resistance is wrong (4 ohm v 8 of your Dynaudios/OEMs) and they'll be quieter than the stock paper cone tweeters you have now. Been there, done that, put it back to stock. If you're really curious I seem to recall having an argument with someone about this a few years ago, maybe you can dredge up the thread. That said I think I have a few kicking around
burnout8488
The Dynaudio tweeters that came in my S70 kit are indeed 4ohm, is this what your C70 tweeters are as well? I would definitely be interested if you can confirm. :-)
(n)A-GAME
That's interesting. I always thought dynaudio kits for the s and v series cars were 8 ohms. I can check and let you know. I'm sure they are as all C70 speakers I've seen are 4.
burnout8488
Yup, they have the "4 ohm" sticker slapped on the side. I confirmed it with a multimeter too. One thing I noticed was that the C70 tweeters have the white rectangle "box" film capacitor on the board, while my S70 Dynaudio tweeters simply have a bridge there. Maybe the C70 ones are of a newer revision if they are both 4ohm. Let me know! Especially if yours work. :-)
