Where is everybody????

I am normally in the show at iPd, unless I have blown another engine.  :)

However, I am not sure I will be in the show next Spring.

Danny sold is S60R last month, so the only Volvo is his wife's.  He drives a 911 now as his daily.

Brian is never on the forum and I don't think he has owned a Volvo for years now.  He is currently on a fishing trip in Alaska.  :)

Carson always has at least 1 Volvo, but he tends to switch up his daily driver about every year.  Usually bouncing between Volvo and BMW.  He doesn't show up on the forum much at all.

I dont think I fall under any of the regions. I am just out here solo, by myself. Stuck between the North and the South. I have no friends. Its a lonely life.

Your always welcome here!  Just let me know next time you're in the pdx area; I'll buy you a beer..

George - hopefully no more blown engines for you. How's she doing anyways?

Wow, Danny Sold the S60R? Wonder if he kept the VST monoblock R's? Those wheels are so nice! I don't disagree with the daily; 911, for real? Our boy is growing up! Did he sell the R locally?

Kaloper never on the forum? That sucks, I liked his colorful comments. What about other Brian with the Yellow and the Red Rs?

Must be nice to switch up cars like shoes, wish I could.

You got friends in the NWC

Question, what are some good coil overs to use on my 98 V70? I like the KW Variant, think the 1s, but too rich for my blood. Is there a good alternative without breaking my wallet???

I don't believe he sold them and if he did, they never left the NWC.  :)  I picked up a set of Team Dynamics from him, so now i have 2 sets.

The other Brian is still around, but seldom on VS.

You could try the D2 coilovers.  I have been running them for years on my car and yet to have them fail on me.

I bought Danny's VST's and mocked them up on my T-5R.  No way to make them fit inside the wheel well, so never actually ran them.  I included them with the car when I sold it to Kraske.  Brian Fetters sold the yellow wagon, not sure where it ended up.  Sold his wife's manual-swapped red 855R as well, and had a Laser Blue VR briefly.  Sold that, grabbed another red 855R.

Glad to hear they are still around the NWC and from the post below, sounds like Kraske has them. Some day I'll have them

D2 coilovers, I'll have to look those up, but who carries them? Do they give a nice ride but give handling characteristics?

Thanks for the update on the VST's, Kraske and Brian. Wow, never thought Brian would sell his yellow wagon. I don't think the NWC are the dominant ones with the yellows anymore especially yellow wagons. Surprised he sold his wifes Red 855R, that was clean too, but he has another. should look great too!

It's nice to talk Volvo's again. Lately it's been the kids and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Cat in the Hat or some other children themed show, but it's awesome to see my girls grow.

I'm gonna try and make VS Daddy time

All coilovers are stiff.  I bought them for racing, but I do daily the car and don't have much of an issue with them on the road.

In general, I agree however I'd say the CX Racing coils I have are not very stiff.

I've compared them back-to-back on the same roads with a few other suspension setups. As far as ride quality, they ride about the same as Koni Yellows/T5-R springs, more compliant than Eibach/Bilsteins, and much softer than D2s.

For a street-driven car, they're a better alternative to a strut/lowering spring combo.

There is still a large group around here. Many of us have transitioned to Facebook and Instagram as our main source of communication. This is my first post on the forums in several months due to the demise of my old laptop and the horrendous layout and mechanics of the mobile site.

Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

Weird cuz when I drove Danny's S70 when all of Kevin's goodies were transferred over, it was firm yet comfortable. Comfortable as in not too stiff. Think he was running the KW variant 2s. But i have heard most coilovers are still, but for some reason those KW's rode nice, just too rich for my blood....unless someone can hook me up

Thanks for chiming in. I'll look those up. Speaking of Koni yellows, if you or someone can refresh my memory, aren't those pretty firm? IIRC, a lot of folks on VS who used them for daily use, didn't like them cuz of how stiff they are. Again, refresh my memory if I'm wrong.

Kalvin! I haven't from you in a long time. Hope all is well! Last i saw your wagon was on Lucky's site (ARD Tuning), btw, looks good on appearance and performance  Facebook or instagram eh? Is it just a Volvo page on FB? Let me know. The VS site update is weird to me, still getting used to it. I like the old VS version.

Everything is well as things can be. Thanks! The LRW is down at the moment getting a new heart, legs, face as well as some liposuction. It hasn't seen asphalt since the beginning of January. I have since purchased a 98 XC for daily driving duty. It's already been modified quite a bit, with more to come.

My IG is in my sig and the FB page the majority of reputable users inhabit is simply 'Volvospeed"
