Dontcallmekenneth
Hi I'm Mike, picked up my 98' S70 yesterday since I needed a A to B car while I save up for "the" car I want. Unfortunately I kind of like the car a little more than I had hoped despite its little issues. the worst being the power steering but i can muscle through it. Hoping to gain some knowledge so I can maybe fix some of the things wrong with it myself. Now to start reading.

TryingBe
Power steering pump is pretty easier to change, power steering rack, you'll need an engine hoist.
Dick Dastardly
The answer is no you can't turbocharge it.

Not necessarily. You can get away with one of those stabilizer bars.
Dontcallmekenneth
Thanks guys, and it is already Turbo. i was told about the rack by the previous owner. I will probably do that when I get the money to give a shop, but it's not a head ache really. I've driven enough cars without PS to manage. I was leaking coolant when i first got gas but since then there hasn't been any leaking and the gauge hasn't been anywhere above the mid mark. I keep an eye on that the most when I drive it. I will be doing some maintenance on it in the next few days though.
survolvo
Search for "Stage 0" on this site. You will want to go through that list and check and replace what needs attention.
Midnight Caller
Don't drive too long with the pump and rack defective, you'll also force and maybe damage the steering column joints.
Dontcallmekenneth
i won't be i found a rack already for $90 just need to make friends or pay someone to put it in. also the phantom coolant leak sprouted again. not sure if its actually the radiator or a hose but it only happens sometimes. i am going to let it run and shut it off tomorrow to see where it might be coming from since it only pops up a few minutes after the car is shut off. Wesdunns70t5m
Check everything! I just changed my radiator yesterday due to it leaking. Turns out the port where the upper radiator hoses gets clamped literally broke off! It would only leak at full operating temperature, but surprisingly the hose never came completely off!!! Good luck! Dontcallmekenneth
I should have most of the parts to do a tune up by next week. I haven't discovered the actual leak from the radiator. all i know is that it doesn't seem to be coming from any of the radiator hoses. I will probably buy the radiator next week. gas milage sucks as well. I was just wondering, is the gas pedal on these usually hard? when I do drive it around, I feel like I have to mash the pedal to get any decent acceleration.
