Back in the game

So after a 5 year hiatus from Volvo owning, I'm looking to get back into the game. I can't remember my old username/password, but I've owned 3 volvos, a 740, an 850, and an S70. I recently bought a house with a two-bay garage and a lift and need a project car to put in it. This will be a true project car, not a daily. I'm mostly interested in an 850 or C/S70. What are the pros and cons of the 94-97 850s and the 98 vs 99 x70s? Motronic vs ME7 for tuning? Any other huge differences or limitations of particular cars?
