So doing some tire comparison a 225/45/16 would probably work out pretty good . Same side wall as 225 /45/17,  3/8" diameter less than stock 205/45/17 Which would help with it being lowered and a bit more width. However hardly nobody makes that size and def not the Michelin super sport pilots which is what I want.

I have a feeling that just wouldn't look right.

225 will require a wide rim, not sure how many OEM 16" wheels came in 7.5"+ width. Also IIRC on the 850 you can't run wide tire widths depending on the wheel offset and how low you are.

The previous owner of my past '98 V70 T5 had something like 225/50/16 or something ridiculous like that and there was tons of rub marks on the front. It basically burned through the fender liners and you could see the rub wearing on the tires themselves too.

The also looked like balloons.

For the record, I have 205-55-16 on Perfos with H&R lowering springs on the S70 and there is no rubbing.  I don't tend to do full lock turns so that may be why.

Yeah, I have same thing. 205-55-16 on Columbas with H&R's. Lock to lock no rubbing. I am planning on going to a smaller tire to eliminate the bubbled look of the sidewalls.
