jhb8426
Recently bought a 2016 V60 CC. The manual says that you can update the Sensus navigation maps by downloading them to a USB drive. Did this, did not work. USB with updates not recognized. Thought maybe it was a bad USB port but it reads my ipod just fine. Came across an article on the Volvo cars support site that mentioned a Sensus software update was required for this to work in XC90s delivered before November 2015. Wondering if by chance this applies to all Volvos delivered before November. Mine has a June delivery date.
jhb8426
The short answer is no... From volvo support: "No, that will not cause the problem as the systems are completely different. Is your USB formatted to FAT32 and empty? Are you using the correct maps for your V60 or are you using the XC90 maps? The XC90 maps will not function in your car." The maps in the XC90 are entirely different than for the rest of the line. Where can I download the latest maps for my all-new 2016 XC90?:http://volvo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9378//kw/xc90%20map This is the link for all the rest. Where can I download the latest maps for Senus Connect?: http://volvo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9156 Feel kind of silly about this. The tip off, other than it says XC90 is that the map version numbers are vastly different.
Fran9690
If you take it to the dealer they will update the maps for you for free as long as you have the nav discs. That's how we do it at my shop. Have never updated the maps on a P3 with a USB, only the new 2016 XC90 is updated with the USB and installed when we take them in during their pre-delivery inspection.
