S/V70 sound deadening and speaker info

Last weekend I applied sound deadening to the doors of my S70, and I would say it was worth it, even if the results are somewhat subjective (I don't have a decibel-o-meter).

First things first:

- as I removed the speakers on my 1998 S70 T5, I found out something that contradicted what I have read in the past. The front speakers (tweeters and doors) are 4oHm resistance, meaning they are connected in series. The rear speakers (doors and parcel shelf) are 8oHm connected in parallel. Odd, since the 850 had all 8Ohm speakers.

- I didn't buy the expensive Dynamat, and instead went with 18sq feet of Noico 80mil sound deadener (it was $35 on Amazon). 18sq feet was enough to do all four doors, and have a little left over. I couldn't cover the entire inside of door, due to poor access, but if you want to be thorough you can probably remove the power window motors and stuff more inside.

- Effect? Peace of mind, and also slightly deeper bass sound (I applied the deadener behind all the speakers in the doors). Like I said, it could be subjective, but I felt a slight improvement in sound.

And in the only it only cost me $35, so I'm happy.
