Car rarity

Yeah that's entirely too high for that car. I know Ohlins were offered, and given that OP said the guy he bought his coupe from was the original owner and mentioned that it's still sitting on the factory sport suspension, I'm curious as to what components are there.

Wait so Josh has owned 2 M56 saffron C70s? Damn.

I always wondered where your car originated.

Yep, I've owned like 20 Volvo's!

Before I bought Josh's I almost bought a 2001 427 C70 M56 with 32k miles on it.  Not sure who he sold it to but was an attorney living outside of DC.  Not an enthusiast. Car was totally stock.

There were OE sport suspension options (i.e. Ohlins) but depending on the mileage it may not have the original components on it.  This is what a stock suspension on a  C70 looks like:

Quoted pic for next page... but this picture is a little deceiving... black car and black tires and black wheel wells.. also handbrake is likely on and the car isn't sitting level... so yes, you can fit a basketball in the wheel gap of this example haha

Yeah my car never sits that high lol. It also rides rougher than any p80 I've had, with the exception of my 855 on coilovers lol. The car was bone stock when I got it as well and all Volvo maintained with OEM parts, right up to the point I had it the maintenance book has even been completed... He has never replaced the suspension, the car has 199,000kms on it (125,000 or so miles) and the front spring seats are shot so I will be seeing what's in it soon likely. Everytime I turn hard in a parking lot it makes popping sounds that make me feel like I'm about to pop a balljoint out or something lol but I think it's just the spring seats/ strut mounts

That's actually close to how high my car sits. Remove the parking brake and it'd be spot on. Despicable.

Just saw a P80 C70 convertible, I should have snapped a picture it was gorgeous, 427 grey with what looked like almost an atacama coloured interior?? I've never seen it before, it was amazing. Couldn't tell if it was auto or manual but the top was down and I could see the centre dash mounted premium stereo, it was driven by an older guy with driving gloves on haha. What dreams are made of, I'm not sure how rare it is but damn it looked nice, other than mine it's the only 427 C70 I've seen (mind you not a coupe) and I've never seen a P80 with that interior colour, would love to swap one into mine.

Idk dude...that would be wild.

I've got a goal now... I need to find one lol. I would imagine the front seats/ centre console lid would fit if nothing else, but if the whole thing would swap that would look incredible, if I can find one!!

Found this picture online, it is EXACTLY how the car looked today, right down to the wheels!

maybe it isn't so rare after all, but it's still a stunning combo. I'd love to have it in my coupe
