gdog
I've lived in two other states before living in oregon. In so many ways it's a great state but man, the general driving skills here IMO are just terrible. Seems everyday i see idiots out there on my commute.. and news stories like these all too frequent.. can't believe anyone walked away from the first one.. http://katu.com/news/local/osp-1-arrested-3-injured-in-drunken-yamhill-county-crash http://katu.com/news/local/head-on-truck-crash-closes-highway-224-near-eagle-creek
BurgerBob
This is a terrible post and you should feel bad, and I'm not just saying that because I live in a city with the highest insurance rates in the country.

Wesdunns70t5m
As someone who constantly complains about other people's driving, I understand haha. I've lived in 3 states, New Jersey, Louisiana, and now Maryland. Louisiana had the worst drivers I've ever seen, and Maryland just has too many cars on the road. New Jersey drivers, although extremely aggressive, were hands down the best drivers I've seen

ErikS
Ha, spend a week driving in Houston. Oregon is paradise compared to it.

Fudge_Brownie
Everyone thinks they've seen the worst drivers. Let's see some data! Insurance claims might be a good metric, but I'm not sure insurance rates are unless we can relate it to their profit margins. OP, get your news from different sources. The TV channels just love the gloom, doom, and fear.

As someone living in the dmv area for the past 2 and 1/2 years, I can honestly say the driving here really isn't that bad. I stick with what I said, there's just way too many drivers in this area. People may be a little slow driving here, but that doesn't necessitate a bad driver in my opinion
kalvin
I could've told you this. However, Oregon is large. Do you live in/near Portland?
gdog
Yep, my data is empirical and just based on what i observe so take it FWIW; jeez some of you guys are so serious.. A week ago I am crossing the Morrison bridge about 6AM, westbound in far left lane when an 18 wheeler (not just the cab; full tractor and trailer) in the lane to right and ahead of me several car lengths starts to slow down; cars behind him are getting annoyed and trying to pass him but (thankfully it turns out) can't. I'm wondering WTF is he doing, when he pitches his rig full to the left, directly in front of me. This dip-stick is attempting a U-turn on the bridge!! If my reflexes were a split second slower, i would have T-boned him for sure. I locked them up (abs kicked in) and laid on the horn; thankfully he stopped and I was able to go around him, shaking my head.. BTW; there was no signal from the truck driver, before, during or after his maneuver and I don't even think there was enough room to do a U-turn from where he started.. That's all I was trying to do; share some of your WTF driver stories..
