(P1) Oil Filter Housing & Airbox removal

Replaced the oil filter housing on a 2012 C30 due to oil leak.

What a pain removing the airbox (Why Volvo, why?!)  But the KEY to removing airbox is to remove the evap thingie over by battery (held with two bolts/rubber washers), and remove the two bolts on passenger side engine mount, and lift engine via oil pan/block of wood about 1-2 inches.  Then you can wiggle out the air box towards the driver's side of the engine.  Even with engine moved, it would not clear to lift straight up.  Also, don't try to lift airbox all at once, work out one peg at a time.  And removing the airbox bottom harness is a bit tricky, there's one screw on the back side, and one plastic clip on the front.

I definitely needed the airbox out to work on the oil filter housing, don't know how else.  Also, make sure to torque down the main oil housing four bolts to18 ftlbs.  I only torqued to about 14 ftlbs because it felt too tight and I was afraid they would strip.  But after a test drive it was seeping oil, so going to 18 ftlbs seemed to seal it.  Luckily the main three bolts at the bottom that seal for oil pressure are easily accessed from underneath.

I noticed the thermostat and lower radiator hose are underneath the airbox.  WHY?  I may convert to a CCI air intake so those jobs will be much easier in the future.  I always replace radiator hoses at 75,000 for preventative measure.  You don't want to overheat an aluminum engine.

Wow, what a ghost town.

Torqued upper bolt down to 18 ft lbs, tightened hose clamp on pcv tube, and put zip ties on 90 degree foam elbow thingie.  Hopefully this will stop oil vapor leaks from oil filter housing.
