goobernoodles
Not there, but the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching. Huge thanks to @Tightmopedman9 for not blowing up my motor on a difficult tune. Time for a stronger wastegate.
Tightmopedman9
Phil, you should post up some shots of that gorgeous engine bay! Some notes about Phil's setup: GTX3071R with .63 A/R, ATP 'ultimate' internal wastegate, screamer pipe and a 14psi wastegate actuator 139.5mm forged rods, Wiseco pistons, 8.5:1 compression ratio Pump gas, 92 (RON+MON)/2, no WMI 3.75" OD MAF housing Snabb generation 1 FMIC Deatschwerks 72lb/min (760cc) injectors IGN-1A ignition coils NGK BKR7E spark plugs Stock head, stock cams, stock intake manifold, 'R' exhaust manifold We had problems keeping the boost consistent throughout the RPM range. As soon as the TCV duty cycle dropped below 99% nd allowed the wastegate to open it wouldn't be able to fully close again. I struggled with keeping it fully shut as high into the RPMs as possible, without a taper to the target TCV duty cycle, but this made it very difficult to avoid overshoot. We tried increasing the wastegate preload, but this helped only marginally. Sometime in the spring Phil will probably add water methanol injection and a stronger wastegate actuator, at which point we'll re-tune the car. We were able to get 451wtq at 4400RPM, but had to end the run prematurely due to boost overshoot and knock. Highest HP occurred on the same run at 384whp. I believe that with a properly functioning wastegate we could see 450whp/450wtq. The .63A/R turbine housing is very responsive. It can make 20psi at 3700RPM and 30psi at 4200RPM. Brad850
I just bought the same turbo. Your car is exactly where I want mine to be! Also do you have any more pictures of your intake setup, specifically closer to the turbo inlet? I'd like to see what you did there.
German850R
Love the hardlines to the turbo. Are these stainless 10mm lines?
gmsgltr
Did you re-locate the battery to the trunk? Where did you route the lines, under the car or under the carpet etc?
