Xand3r
Hello everyone, have a 2005 xc90 with the original headlights that are looking awful. Thinking to buy some aftermarkets cause the dealer is asking an arm and a leg. I’ve seen something on eBay from “am autoparts” that seems to be interesting. Did someone buy these kind of cheap headlights, did it fit well and how long have it lasted? Thanks a lot, any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards. Ihatespeedbumps
Never heard of AM auto, but I've used the TYC brand quite a bit and they are much more affordable that Genuine Volvo. I'm assuming we are talking about halogen housings of course.
Jh4music
The aftermarket lights look nice and will work fine. One thing to be aware of, they do not have the auto aiming feature that the stock headlights have. You will get a code stored for an auto aimer malfunction, but it doesn't light up on the dash and won't hurt anything. I did look into swapping the auto aiming mechanisms to the new lights, but it will not swap over.

Yes, that’s about halogen headlamps, how about these tyc’s, is it good, how long did you have it, is everything working fine, I mean DRL and all that position lights. Regards. Ihatespeedbumps
I've never personally had them but put them on quite a few customer vehicles. From what I could tell they were equal quality to the OEM lenses.

Thanks a lot once again 7 hours ago, Ihatespeedbumps said: I've never personally had them but put them on quite a few customer vehicles. I have a little problem with the “anti-skid/abs service required” problem from time to time, and also “anti-skid temporarily off” popping up from time to time. Do you have an idea what it could be? Ihatespeedbumps
I am and I don't know without some codes. You're going to need VIDA.
Xand3r
I don’t know exactly the code, because when we hooked vida it didn’t have these messages on the screen, the only faulty thing that was coming off it was the rear abs sensor. The weird thing is that when it start doing that, the system will lower rpms and the car tends to stall, the it goes away like nothing happened. Ihatespeedbumps
You probably want to dig into the rear ABS sensor issue a little further. It's probably dropping the wheel speed sensor signal and thinks the wheel is slipping badly, causing the engine to cut power.
