I'm doubtful that I'll make it.  Car needs tons of work before then, a lot of which is out of my hands to do, and I'm moving right beforehand.

Bummer  but it's all good. Don't rush the car.

Any plans for Ithaca this year?

My buddy in his 1983 e21 turbo. I'm trying to talk Justus and Joe into coming, but we'll see how that goes.

Is JVC around your area too?

Volvos At Carlisle: Official posts of all posts, or, Don't call it a comeback.

So in past years as you all know Ashley has headed up the Volvos at Carlisle tent. This year she has passed the torch onto us, so it's under new management. We are a team of four, or five, possibly six people all seasoned in the yearly pilgrimage to Carlisle. Rain or rain.

Similar to the past years we are collecting funds that will go towards food, drink, the tent, cornhole boards, lighting, and other stuff to make this year more of a Volvo lounge.  A more comfortable place to hang out, visit, and eat.  We are giving discounts if you donate earlier and before Carlisle, specifically $20 before the end of April, $25 before the event, and $30 at Carlisle.

We are springing for the large tent this year at 20'x40'.  We have all of the meals planned and have the menu, with times, posted on our Facebook page.   New highlights in the Volvo camp this year will include cornhole (or baggo depending on where you live), music, tables and chairs (like adults), and beverages.
We are reaching out to some vendors to get a raffle going as well, but this is still in the works.

We are also taking recommendations as to what you guys would like to see, just keep it realistic. I know someone mentioned getting a dino, but thats going to have to be in the years to come depending on this year's turnout.  Any other ideas?

UPDATES:

STICKERS:
So we managed to get Aime from Sweetgfx.com to work with us in producing the stickers. Were getting 200 units of assorted colors and essentially the same designs as in years past, but with "2018" now. So consider the stickers covered unless one of you would like to contact me and propose a different design.

VENDORS:
As for vendors (ScottishBrick, Ill take you up on your Nokian tires connection. Pm me) we officially have Eurosport Tuning sending us some swag for the raffle/grab bags. We also managed to work with a local Volvo dealer liquidating stock, so we have a 850 series timing belt kit, 700 series tune up kits and some other items that we need to go threw.

"VOLVOS AT CARLISLE" Group Signup:
The Carlisle website should have had our group option listed by now, but as it stands we are still not available in the group list. I contacted them this morning to get "Volvos at Carlisle" on the group list so people can start signing up. If you have all ready signed up for another group or have not signed up for a group but pre registered and would like to retroactively join Volvos at Carlisle then you can PM me and I can get you swapped over. This would greatly benefit the Volvo community as the larger and more coherent our group becomes the more of a presence we can have at Carlisle and not look like the underdogs when compared to the Saab tent.

YOUR HELP:
We would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word around your friends and Volvo groups in helping us get more people to sign up for Volvos at Carlisle. As of now we have a very low number of paying patrons and it will be difficult for us to provide everyone with food, entertainment and free swag without help from our fellow Volvo community. At the very least your $25 will pay for 5 full meals (as shown on our menu) that I can guarantee will be better than getting $5 foot longs or eating off the dollar menu at Mc Donalds all weekend.

Thanks for your help, the Volvos at Carlisle crew.

Most people usually (at least on here) sign up with "Volvospeed" as the club, since that's the most active/biggest club and I'm pretty sure Ashley used the Volvospeed tent for the food shenanigans previous years.

Also about the donations, from what was discussed in the past, people usually donate couple weeks before the show since some of them are still on the edge of coming to the show.

Other than that. ROCK ON!
