Socialized healthcare would entail the government picking and choosing your doctor and also picking and choosing which the treatment the Doctor can and cannot do. In Canada, the only responsiblity the Government has is financing healthcare. Anyone can pick any doctor they want at any time and change doctors at will. The doctors can prescribe any medication they want and any procedure they deem necessary. The only time the government is involved is when the doctor bills for his hours. The government pays the doctor only.And no the Canada does not suck, Canada is Awesome, as does the U.S. except in certain areas of foreign policy.Canada gave you funny people like Jim Carry, Mike Myers, the dad from American Pie (Eugene Levy), Shania Twain, and countless others.Here is a small clip of our humor in action. You must think the yield of a nuke is like 3trllion^30 megatons.←I have read news reports on effectiveness of your system, but i have also read the effectiveness of my companies reports on our network secuirity and how it stops all viruses, yet how come i get a call telling me everything is down b/c a virus infected everything and my f'ing emails are gone... Lets look at another scenario, the distance thing "i will get the exact figures on distance soon" but how come all you pollution seems to be carried by wind into our cities. We get acid rain and many other toxic problems, not to mention the water pollutions that dont care about where the border line is in the lake. The Stig Posted February 26, 2005 Report Share Posted February 26, 2005 socialized health care may not be the answer, but what we have sure as hell isn't either. it is a system designed to enrich the rich and nothing else. the wife is a doctor, so trust me, I have a very intimate knowledge of how the hospitals and insurance companies work, not to mention drug and device companies. it is a filthy, slimy, racket.←Couldn't agree more.
