T-5Bandit
To be honest less than 10% of our sells comes from VS but we have put an affliate program into place that would allow anyone with a webpage to get discounts and you can check it out affiliate program←Affiliate Program, what a joke. After reading this and other threads involving you guys, none of you have any clue about managing a business. BTW- Most people on VS do not have their own websites, they are users on cardomain.com. They don't have any rights on that site, other than to get few pages to display pictures of their cars.
Kendall
I second the guy above(t5 bandit?). I mean its 10%! The fact that youll openly sweat it speaks volumes in my opinion. Have the business sense to email Charles as to why you feel like you can't help out some people who just so happen to be in the same community as yourself. :monkey:
prasamin
I totally agree with Stephen's point that we need a separate section for vendors to sell or promote their items...it gives a centralized area for bashing, rather than plugging into different threads when people need help....when buying or searching for the best deal, you just click on the vendor list and shop away for the best deal or whateverCharles' point that we should get a discount, even though VMS says only 10% of their sales come from VS members, is valid....a better business would know that a discount to VS members may (not guaranteed), but may help boost sales...why not try a one month 10-15% off sale to see what happens? Isn't that how business and competition works? ...I mean, at my office, I advertise free exams and x-rays on your first visit....that's because I want to boost my patient poole and because the guy next door offers only a free checkup...that's how businesses stay in business...T-5Bandit also has a good point...you make it difficult for someone to get a discount when all it should involve is walking into the office and asking...We have like thousands of VS members, and I guarantee that less than 5% of them have their "own" webpage....I'm not bashing, just trying to YOU out....I mean, everyone needs advice sometimes!Anyway, this post is wayy too long....congrats if you read it all the way to right here.-Pras-
Nebor
A 10% discount won't change their sales. 10% is a negligible difference considering the market they're in. They have little to no competition. If you need something they have, then that's that. You're going to buy it from them. Unless you decide you don't need it, in which case, I doubt the 10% price difference would have made it for you.

I am Volvomotorsports and if the Admin of this site thinks that it would be a good idea to give the members 10% discount then all they have to do is place a banner or a link that will take anybody through the affiliate site and they will get the 10%. This is all logged and admin can watch it and just let the 10% go to the members that is making the purchase.I am a one man army. Volvomotorsports is a very small company with big hopes and dreams of growing into the kind of company that most of you would be proud to do business with. As of right now i am overwelmed with work. This is why i have other people that do the selling for me. As the 5% discount i think that was offered by ROB and if that is the case then he is taking the 5% out of his pocket. We have grown so fast that i can't be the sales, packaging, shipping, customer service and do all of the machning anymore. As well as the R&D and keep products coming so if the admin thinks that the sells would increase for a 10% discount fine then let them add the banner. I can adjust the % on my end of the site.Might i add that all of my customers wether they are buying a bumper sticker or a complete motor or very valuable to me and that they will continue to get the best customer service that i can give. Sounds like typical growing pains. If the demand has out stripped your resources, you need to expand. Hope I am not out of line, and I am sure you already know this. Not exactly rocket science. But asking for a banner so you get more business at this point is comical for several reasons. One you claim you have too much businesses. If thats the case why would you even think about advertising more. Two, literally hundreds of other companies offer us a discount. None of them are asking for a free banner. Quite the opposite. Tires.com for example ponies up a good part of the cost of this server. Plus lets keep this in perspective. You already get a load of exposure here, which is free. I don't ask that vendors pay anything. I don't ask for anything even when I host pictures for them. All I ask is they extend a professional courtesy to my members. I mean you get a free arena to show off your great products to close to 10000 targeted people all for free. And even that I do not ask for. If you cannot offer a discount supply a reason, ie too small of a company, and life goes on. But going on the defensive right off the bat, not you I believe it was Rob. And just a reality check. You guys are not the only ones in the world that can built a small block. You do offer a very nice package service and for that I am sure everyone is greatful. But pulling the "I'm the only one" bit is what has put a lot of "small" Volvo companies under. I have been here 7 year and have seen at least 304 companies come and go. As for your customer service, I hear its great. Anyone who asks about machine work I always refer to you. The key in any business is knowing your place and not stepping out of it. turbowagon
VMS peppers the board all the time for every part they sell. Wheter it's a downpipe or a engine block, every thread has a VMS rep, recommending their wares. I think at least a 10% discount to Volvospeed members would be fair considering the insane amount of free advertising they get in utilization of the message board. I would also wager that VMS recieives much more than 10% of their sales from Volvospeed members. The FWD Volvo community is small. This is probably the largest North American forum for FWD Volvo Performance modifications. Swedespeed is close, but really does not address performance modification like Volvospeed. Brickboard is lame. Turbobricks focuses on RWD. There are a few others out there but in reality Volvospeed is the major player. Hence the reason that VMS focuses their promotion on Volvospeed.Charles, I think you are heading in the right direction with this.

ROB @ VMS
Sounds good to me Terry.I thank you all for your business as always. I hope you take advantage of this 10% Discount. As terry said i have myself always offered a 5% discount to Vs members and that comes from me not vms. So all sales through me are 10% off now. After the 2 months we will see the results. But i think if everyone is happy with this then thats a good thing.
