See from my understanding on george is that unless your big name on SS your pretty much screwed on customer support and if your VS lol forget any support .

That and some of the stuff he sells is just pure junk.

the clutchs havent nuked the trannys they just dont hold up to the power there supposed to.

that and chattering to death is the two big things with them.

oh then spec basicly gives you a line of crap when you try to warrenty anything with them

I've bought plenty from George without an issue, not expecting any.

I've also bought from every other major Volvo vendor and have had issues with all of them except for Jamie at Darrell Waltrip. So honestly I don't think it would matter who I bought a clutch from.

I got my Spec clutch from him too. I'm getting worried with all this talk of failure and destroying trannys :(

I'm tempted to get one from ClutchNet... that's where I sourced my T5 142 project clutch from. Dammit! Coulda got a twofer special!

http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?s...mp;hl=sachs+707 ... yes, Justin is correct. Bunch of VW's guys have slipped theirs as well, a bunch of swedes recommended me the sachs 707, now aaron and myself are doing sachs 707 clutch.

My clutch slipped after 1k, barely breaking in.

I got goosebumps when I saw this thread, bunch of modded V70's yeay!

mine should b getting a tubular mani, ceramic coated and the ball bearing turbo this summer, maybe sooner. then finalize the cf hood project for some peeps, then it's off to the tune shop, i'm convincing myself to put it on a trailer to VA where an Autotech tuner will fly into town :( , I can't really talk about it, but it's a Me7 tuning tool written my car :o... oh, and then sell the car lololol...

a/w Nick, good luck with this beast!!

I think it is a pity that IPD doesn't make a kit to make the Sachs 707 a direct bolt-on.

You count in my book too Gary. :) You just need a LSD up front ... unless I missed when you did that. One-Wheel-Peel is less than fun. :)

God, I love one-wheel-peel!

Aaron and I are not expecting issues with the clutch, we feel most issues come from improper break in.

That's awesome that you are going to go with all of that. I am about at the point with my car that I have about as much in it as I care to....love my wagon but after a certain point there are other cars I'd rather own. If the economy hadn't taken such a dump I might feel differently but right now I am just stock piling cash and plan to make some investsments as we hit closer to bottom. If I had wanted a just balls to the wall fast Volvo dyno queen I would have kept my v8/6 speed 244. My goal is a very stock appearing car...something Volvo might have put together. That was the basis in almost all of the parts that were bought...I don't want the aftermarket look. The CF hood should end up looking very trick on cars with a slew of aftermaket parts.

I've had several long discussions with Aaron and I am basically at the point I need to build the motor...not something I want to do at the moment which is why we've stopped at the mods I have. The car should run great for events like the Big Bend Open Road Race, Silver State, Sandhills Challenge, Hot Rod Power Tour, etc. so I will be happy with it. This car is really just a stop gap until I turn 25, insurance drops, and I can have a sports car without it eating me alive for insurance.

Good luck to all,

Nick

I'm keeping a lookout for an M66AWD box here in the UK for mine. Question is, do I need anything other than the trans itself to swap from my M58AWD manual?
