Things you may not have known about your V70R

I paid $11k for mine in 2003 (including complete service records going back to 39k... which is what sold me on the car!). But that was over $15k ago, with the M66 conversion, performance engine rebuild, custom suspension, stereo upgrade, wheels, etc. Not even sure what I'd ask now...

Me neither...custom audio, Intrax coilovers, engine mods, PPC tuner, full custom repaint (Carlisle unveil...lol).

Who knows...it would obviously have to go to an enthusiast now.

Who ever ordered mine was the ultimate cheapskate! Mine has nothing extra in it! Just the bare bones...oh wait...they did opt for the wood interior trim and wood steering wheel......whoooooooooopie!

Oh ya...Sam...I'll fire off a pic for ya dude when she is done.

Me too; just so I could use the location for a WRX STi gauge pod!!!

I was going to try to fit two or three gauges there... with a custom housing and everything! Or maybe a pop-up video screen... or maybe a Heads Up Display! The possibilities are endless!!!

I might still try and fit the Scooby pod there anyways. It's the perfect location for gauges.

I bought mine new and it was about $42,000. The only options I don't have were by choice. No center speaker, no roof rack. (they really wanted to put one on, I told them if they did the deal was off).

61k miles now and my wife still loves it. There have been some repairs, all electrical, but still a great car. The only thing that I changed was tires, hated the stock Michelin's, replaced those at 17k.

I saw a pic someplace of someone with a pop-up nav unit in place of the center channel. I think it would be cool as hell to have a guage pod there.

I've swapped out the HU and since it no longer makes any sound, it would cool to do something usefull there.

I don't know what some people's affinity for the 901 is. Yes, it had/has some neat features for a stock deck, but the fact that it won't play any burnt CDs killed it for me. I know you can add the ipod adapter, but what about all my other music?

I replaced it with a Sony DU for under $200 that plays all CDs music and MP3, and has a rear wired USB plug for ipod or memory stick or phone, whatever. I wish I had done it sooner.

PS 901 is available if anyone is interested.,

??? The SC-900 I put in my wife's 960 plays burned music CDs! Maybe it's the burner software or the type of CD-Rs you're using. I use Memorex CD-R's and burn using either iTunes or Roxio.
