Tyler T5R Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Here is the axle I got from NAPA when asking for a right front axle for 98 V70R AWD. It doesn't look like any of the axles pictured above. Hopefully tomorrow I can get under the car and see what the existing axle looks like.

I called and they figured out that I was invoiced for the correct part # (95-1176) but given the wrong one (95-1178). I assume the other store they exchanged it from pulled the wrong part. They got the replacement within a couple hours but I haven't picked it up yet.
Tyler T5R Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 NAPA gave me the correct right front axle today. It does look like the bottom one in lookforjoe's picture that is labeled as a 98, and it did fit. For reference the NAPA part number is 95-1176.

For reference the NAPA part number is 95-1176.I just bought from NAPA and installed what looks like the same FWD axle for my 98 V70R AWD. I noticed they were different sizes. It went it just fine. Is this going to be a major problem? I haven't driven it yet. What do you think?

What do you think?If it was a FWD axle that NAPA gave you it would not pass through the bevel gear, unless you removed your bevel gear and are running FWD. The AWD axle is slimmer than the FWD axle on the long end to allow it to pass through the BG.
