kenhoeve
you can't come this far and turn back. you need a brain trust.shave the mount and shave 1/4" on the compressor housing. those are cast with plenty of meat, yeah?
JHEIII874T5M
already ground the compressor part

JHEIII874T5M
the stock manifold is what I'm using... can't move that flange.
kenhoeve
so if you were to mill a little off the turbo flange and a little off the manifold, that wouldn't take it away from the mount some?
JHEIII874T5M
the problem is that the compressor housing itself is hitting the motor mount, if I mill part of the manifold, turbo itself that'll make matters worse, if anything I'd need to make an up pipe or something of the sort.new plan is to just sell this turbo and wastegate, etc., just put a 75 NX wet shot and the civinco piggyback with a straighto utlet 15G or 16T
550
I agree you cant come this far only to turn back... my heart cries (well bleeds)
JHEIII874T5M
guys, I hate turning back...turbo = $350wastegate = $200turbo oil return line (thanks to ericf ) = $40oil feed and oil return gaskets along with oil fed flange = $40flange = $100ish (long story)metric -> AN adapters for block = $40 (long story)manifold = $40maching = $50that right there is about $850, just stuff I can come up with off the top of my head... not to mention the time I had to put into it, plus gas to pick all these random bits and ends uptruly sucks, but whatever... se la vi, between work 5 days a week 6-10 PM and then school everyday, with 16 credits in the honors program, time just isn't allowing o welltrust me, I don't want to get rid of this project, but I must
BlackT5
You must be able to fit an angled spacer and make it work. Couldn't you just buy a T3 flange and cut it? Something like 30 degrees might just shift the turbo up just enough to clear the mount. You have to make it work man, I know how much you want to. JHEIII874T5M
Mark... ya know what's funny, I really do want it to, but every step of the way the car has told me that she doesn't want it, I swear every step of the way. She doesn't want it, she won't get it. She enjoyed the 16T, and the 15G she found pleasant, and she accepted the Walbro with a bit of negotiating. However, oddly enough, for some reason she doesn't want this T3. We'll see how she likes the nitrous, and hopefully I can get a decent price for all my turbo parts. Time to start selling BTW, Mark, we did think about that angled spacer idea, however you can't really move up without moving out, the problem is it'll hit the hard firewall part of the car, I already hammered the soft firewall part, but otherwise it'll nail the frame part... also that stupid tranny mount just won't budge. Time for spray
EricF
Well...I'd just double check everything you can think of, and see if there are any possible ways around it one more time (maybe the turning the turbo around with the compressor on the other side, etc..)...I would strongly suggest looking into a 17C or even a big 16G, because both of those turbos will work without much trouble, be better than the 16T, and will probably have better boost characteristics than the 19T. They're also pretty cheap in some circles... Check your PM's.If not, the 16T and spray is a decent idea, but I don't like the idea of relying on spray for achieve a daily driven car's actual potential either I'd just see how far you're willing to go into that mount and/or nut/stud, and see if you can make things work in any way, or explore other turbo options. It may be worth it to try getting an up-pipe made, and if you had your spacer CNC'ed in half, Richard and I could probably weld it up for you. That would probably solve the problem...Anyway, I digress.

BlackT5
Looking trough my pics, i came back across this one... just shows how small even the 19T really is. Now I can see why it won't fit...My 19T beside my brother's Precision SC50 (.60 A/R on the cold side)
