There is no way you can compare this unique car to any other in a deal of purchase unless it too has the exact same equipment, mileage and condition but is a newer year for the exact same price. A 2000 S80 T-6 is virtually 99.9% identical to a 2001 MY or newer as far as construction of parts. That car cost $45,000 when new and perhaps many were bought by people for $40,000 with 5000 miles on the odometer in 2000. He would need to spend $12-15,000 more to get any newer S80, which most likely has a lot more miles on it. He would have to spend maybe $10-15,000 in repairs in the first year of ownership to get hurt on the purchase. I think this is a very safe hedge. You need to learn alot more on the subject of economics and asset depreciation before you try to make any more outrageous accusatory remarks against me. Bay13
if u want a great volvo buy a 240.You sounded OK until you said that. They were OK in their time. They eat just as much money as the rest to keep running, nothing special about them. :P
BREAKAWAY
ah come on, the 240 is a great car still today, i see many with 300k plus and still running great, not saying that it didn't cost much to get it there, but its easy to work on, one of the most safest car to be in, now u can get anything u want for them pretty cheap, now. volvo has built a strong name from the 240. va has many belivers in the 240. how bout it fairfax u know u love to work on them more than the newer ones. haha
