All depends on your Emissions code in the VIN.  Some could be round some square.

Thanks for the help. I bought a vacuum pump today and checked the purge valve. The side that goes to the canister doesn't hold vacuum, the other side does. I'm hoping this means this is the P0455 problem. My old purge value is a Bosch, PN 0 280 142 300, same as the Bosch valve sold on the FCP Groton website. I guess my next step is to buy the Bosch valve and try it. The old Bosch valve has been working for at least 10K miles or more, since I last had it to the dealer. I don't know how long ago the OEM Volvo valve was replaced, but it had to have been done by the dealer.

When you replace the valve, it's a good idea to put a filter in line with the line that goes to the canister, the volvo part number for the filter is 9186744. It helps keep charcoal from the canister out of the valve seats and makes the valve last longer.

There is a filter in that line, but I suppose I should replace it too. Thanks again.
