Seafoam

No way to say.  I have never pulled an engine right after I used it.  I remember on the old carb cars you used to do this.  For what its worth it fixed a sticking lifter on K-dawgs car

It was well worth the 4 or 5 bucks. I could hear the difference right away and is still running good/quietly!

I seriously suggest you do an oil change if you put it in the crankcase....its not good for anything in your car to leave it in there

Yeah I am going to do and oil change about two weeks from now.

You guys should have seen the car this morning. When I left house today, I still had the stuff in my intake manifold. I turn out of our apartment complex and stop at a stoplight. While I was waiting a HUGE cloud of smoke started to accumulate. As I pulled away I left the whole intersection in a cloud of smoke. :D But I did feel a little embarassed, people must of been thinking that the car was about to blow up.

Did the Seafoam in the vac tree this morning, and I can honestly say, that I could not see the any of the houses on my street for almost 5 minutes.

I replaced all of the brake pads, two front rotors (painted them too :-]), and the fluid (ATE Super Blue). Also done besides Seafoam was a new Red Top battery. When my wife drove it, she asked what I had done to make it faster, not stop better.

When doing the Seafoam, (by the way, it sucks it up quick) I noticed that there was smoke coming from the turbo, but I need to change one of the rubber hoses, so I'm thinking that Seafoam "may" be able to pinpoint large vacuum leaks. Would like to see if anyone else had a similar situation with a known old rubber hose.

Overall, would do it again, although I think that some or most of the smoke you see is the Seafoam itself, but it seemed to make a big difference.

When I introduced the seafoam into the intake manifold, I just used the vacuum tube going to the PCV flame trap (on a Naturally Aspirated engine). Worked perfectly for me.

well, i tried it this afternoon. my 14 year old brother was the person revving the engine while it was being sucked up, heh. the first time he let the engine die, so i had to restart it and after it was all said and done i only sucked in maybe 1/4 of a can :( so it didn't do much, the engine seemed to sound better, but it could've just been me thinking that. i'll try it agian this weekend.

on another note, i lost the stupid nub that goes on the vacuum tree. are these cheap? right now i have the hose i used, only it's tied.. heh.

I say again, do not rev the engine while doing this. I have done 4 cars in the past week with different methods. You get much better results not revving the engine

Did you just put it in the gas tank in any of your cars?

So I bought a can of SeaFoam a coupla weeks ago from AutoZone, with the intention of using it with the trusty and knowledgable help of Sean(White850T5). I told my dad about this wonder-cure, and he, being old and wise B) , is not convinced that this stuff actually works. So I called over to Volvo of Richardson down here in Dallas for a "professional opinion", and the guy there said he had never even heard of the stuff, but told me to bring it in and show him what its all about. I'm going in tomorrow to get my gas tank looked at because of the recall notice on 850's, so I figure I'll show him this thread on VS while I'm there to give him a little insight into what this stuff is. I'll report back on what all goes on, if anything goes on. Right now my idle is getting rougher by the year, and I've almost completed Stage 0, and want to have the car back to as good as new before the summer is out...but don't want SeaFoam to mess things up... <_<
