Snabb Throttle Spacer and Intake Manifold Spacer Group Buy

Recommended Posts

Finally getting some more love for the S/V40 series.

I've been in contact with Kristian at Snabb for the past couple weeks and we've been discussing options for the S/V40.

Currently he is making a throttle body spacer as well as an intake manifold spacer specific to the 40 series.

I'm gauging interest in these and he will be giving me group buy pricing later today for certain order quantities.

links to snabb to see what they are like, what they're made of, etc. I'll have pics of the actual products once they are complete.

mani spacer http://snabb.us/Amar...pacer_p_93.html

throttle body spacer http://snabb.us/Volv...acer_p_159.html

pricing breakdown...

S40 Intake manifold spacer retail $39.95

S40 Throttle Body Spacer retail $36.95

Price break from 1-9 15% off

Price break from 10-19 25% off

Price break from 20+ 30% off

So who would be interested in purchasing a throttle body spacer and or intake manifold spacer?

1. 1clean00 - both

2. TEEKAY - both

3. XCITES - both

4. Ninjasixsixsix - both

5. FIREBOLT - 2X throttle spacer, 1 mani space

6. BAWLS - both

7. who's next...

I'm in. Both. Can I return the other spacer :P

Would have to check with Kristian on that. I'd honestly keep both, they're re-usable, but if you incorrectly torque them they can sometimes crack.

He said this would be a product that he would keep stocked. He's making 100 of each to get started, and hoping that through the forum we can get some overseas x40 lovers on board as well, they're small and light enough that it's cheap on shipping overseas.

The one i want the most is the IAC hose from intercooler to IAC valve. Silicone would make a lot of sense there as the rubber gets to hot at the iac valve and eventually develops splits.

Reduce heat transfer.

I looked for a reduced coupler for that hose and gave up, I'm sure one exists of the appropriate length but it was way easier to buy the $13 hose from the dealer.

And that's a VERY common hose to fail too. First one that failed on my S40 after I had bought it. Ok, so explain to me what spacers do... Something with the airflow, right? Is this something I should get on?

They will help to reduce IAT temperature by spacing the intake manifold away from the cylinder head (about 1/8") and they also serve as a gasket. The throttle body spacer....well...just adds some additional volume, but will also help reduce heat transfer from the manifold to the throttle. A cooler throttle body will also be less likely to get sticky by oil residue from the charge air.

That would be beneficial especially here in So Cal and other south western states particularly.

Yeah, but heat soak is even worse in very hot and HUMID states, like GA, FL, AL.

Put me down for both. This replace OEM gasket?

Yes. They also serve as the gasket.

Here is a note from Kristian about these spacers....

"Hey adam, it will be the same as the other ones tried and true.1/8" thick low thermal conductivity Aramid Fiber nitrile binder spacer. Self sealing, resistant to heat, water, hydrocarbons, oil and gasoline with a tensile strength of 1500 psi.

Reuse stock bolts , no additional gaskets needed. I've probably sold 500 of the other versions over the last few years so they are a well tested part.

Hope that helps

As for the iac hose yes! That is moving forward too. I should have them in stock in 2-3 months just have to wait for toolings to be made. We can do a GB for those when I get closer on that. "

The only kicker is you need to torque it down in increments so it sits correctly. I don't know if that is standard procedure for a regular intake reassembly or not.

You would always want to torque in stages, typically starting inside and working out. I would never recommend cranking down one at a time and going straight across the manifold. You risk snapping a manifold bolt hole as well.
