VomotionR
I have a 2000 v70R with 16" satellite wheels.I would like to know the limits on what fitments can work with the car. According to IPD website the 00 v70R has: -850/C-S-V 70 1993-2000 + 35-38mm offset with 65.1 mm hub bores that means: I have 5x108 16" x 6.5 with 65.1 mm hub bores. But i still don't know what offset I have on the stock 16'S 1. my questions is"If I get 19x8's - what offset limits can I run? What will help me clear the fender as much as possible running 19's?If I get 18x8's - what offset limits can I run? what will help me clear the fender as much as possible running 18's? 2. Also if the rims have a larger bore than 65.1 mm, do I just need a spacer? 3. Ipd's replica wheels are:19" x 8" with 42mm offset. Will that clear the fender on the 2000 V70R or should I get 19's with a smaller offset (<42mm)18" x 8" with 43mm offset. Will that clear the fender on the 2000 V70R or should I get 19's with a smaller offset (<43mm) I basically want some concave wheels either 18" or 19" on the 2000 v70R that will clear the fenders as I understand there will be rub on full lock with these size wheels. So I was wondering what offset will help me achieve this goal.
VomotionR
Ok I figure the first set of questions might of been confusing I was wondering if these will work?http://www.carid.com/mach-wheels/me7-me7-1880ff42fhsmf-e-45872912.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw75yxBRD78uqEnuG-5vcBEiQAQbaxSBkPcQwm8H2iSLAatHWhSq_mCt9f07zCBol21uZu5YoaAivL8P8HAQ Mach Me7's:18x85x10842mm offset72.56mm Hub I figure all i need is a hub Spacer for the 65.1mm to 72.56 which I found. I pretty sure this will clear the fenders, does anyone have any input? I'm Pretty Sure they're gonna work 100% and look Hella NiCe!!! Now I just need to get the tires right
NEU
Width and tire size are what you need to be concerned about to make it fit vs. diameter. An 8" wide rim with 40et will work on 16" or 19" diameter I've run several sets of wheels on my R. The largest wheel tire combo I've run is on 18x8 OZ Ultraleggera with a 38et and 235-40 tires. Those were just barely rubbing on the outside of the liners on the fender openings. These sit flush with my fenders, it can't stick out anymore or it will rub like crazy on my lowered car. I'm currently running 17x7 OEM Titians with a 43et +5mm spacer (total of 38et) and 235-45 tires. Without the spacer it would rub inside at full lock, I still could use a bit more possibly a 10mm spacer as it still rubs just not as bad as before. Plus it would push the wheels out and make them flush. I've also run a set of 17x7.5 OEM Thors with 49et with 235/45 and had to run 5mm spacers or the rear suspension would mill away the inner wheel lip. Plus up front was rubbing like crazy at full lock. Ideally it could have used 10+mm to have them sit flush. To help you figure out what will work in a visual way Google some of the wheel offset calculators, 1010tires and will if fit are good ones to check out. The sweet spot for 8" wide wheels are around 40et again it really depending on your tire combo too. Most folks run 225/40-18 or 225/45-17, I'm running the p2R tire sizes, 235/40-17 and 235/40-18 for a bit of sidewall cush and it visually fills the fenders better. If you are running an 8" wide wheel I would run at least a 225, nothing narrower. If you want a set of 19" I have a mint set of OEM Vulcanis 19x8, 49et off a XC90 v8 Sport in silver, that are for sale, they'd require a 10mm spacer and hub rings to work. I figure since the car wont be lowered now I have a better chance of fitting these wheels as well as not compromising other drivetrain components. I used the "will it fit" suggestion you gave me and this is what I put in for my desired Wheel and tire combo:Stock- 205/55/r16 Width - 6.5 Offset - 38mm im guessing its 38 and not 35New- 225/40/r18 Width - 8 Offset - 42mm This resulted in: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 23.1mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 15.1mm more than before. So I factored in a 5mm Spacer, changing the offset from 42mm-38mm on the new rims... This resulted in : Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 19.1mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 19.1mm more than before. Do you think this will be an issue on the stock suspension or will it fit just right? 19.1mm is roughly .75 inches Ps. Im still reading your input and digesting it just factoring in the fact that i'm keeping the stock suspension now. what u think Neu?
VomotionR
oh wait i think i have a problem a 5mm spacer would turn 42mm to 38mm or 47mm?
